Please Scroll Down to See Forums Below When I am expecting the period to come, like a day or two before, my olfaction works as if it got a turbo-booster only at those times. I start noticing all the smells, and smell them very accutely, even when others don't even perceive them. Is this a normal thing and why does it happen?

I would have difficulties answering how this works, but I definitely know that this does happen lots of times. In fact, my wife gets the same thing every time she is about to get her period – she smells everything really potently. So I would not be concerned about that, unless you are getting trouble because of that.
It's quite normal. Shame we don't get super powers.
It's very normal to have an increased sense of smell when on your period. It's from the hormonal changes occurring.
