Well nearly pointless. According to this article: 9 Restoration Tips That Will Make You Stronger on elitefts, John Catanzaro says this:
Many experts have touted the benefits of low intensity strength training following high intensity work to enhance recovery. However, a recent study by Zainuddin et al. revealed that light concentric exercise has a temporarily analgesic effect on delayed-onset muscle soreness but no effect on recovery from muscle damage induced by eccentric exercise.
I thought this was pretty interesting. I'm sure there are benefits to being active rather than being lazy, but to say that it specifically has no effect toward recovery...
