for me, depends on how far out I am from a show, and also what type of diet I may be following if I am just trying to cut up and there is NO show......
Commonplace in my arsenal is dextrose, whey protein, ALA, and MCT oil. (MCT oil is good when carb loading also for a show or similar event)
Some have a slower digesting pwo meal, but I was always one who wanted available nutrients quickly. The last week or two before a show, I nix the dextrose.
