Mine would have to be Paul Oakenfield. Although I've never seen him live yet. :(
Also like Sasha, David Morales, sometimes Max Graham, others too.

Little Louie Vega is impressive..... i was working in a club in Barcelona 5 years ago during the summer. He was the guest DJ (of course I was the no-name dj lol so nobody cared about me) and spinned a 5 hours set. Impressive. Its the only big name I've seen live.....oh ye there was another Pete Tong, heard the guy is big in england but man he sucks, he only puts records......

Mark Farina, David Harness, Junior V., Donald Glaude, Darren Emerson (tech/house), Dave Ralph, DJ Dan, Ferry Corsten, Boy George, Frankie Bones

JUNIOR VASQUEZ!!!!!! sure maybe he is losin his touch from what he once was but he still reigns supreme...... always plays good music not in a khole half the time like jonathan peters hit and miss crap....... also manny lehman opens for juinor plays pretty good shit..... also victor calderone....... no cheezy jersey dj's

Judge Jules!!!!! oakenfold, sasha, van dyk. the list goes on.
ANY ministy of sounds people or gatecrashers.

locally, Curt Caris! psycho-bitch, teri bristol, chris gin etc etc etc.

oh yeah DJs MUST BE SEEN LIVE!!!!!

David Morales....for good feeling melodic house
DJ Dan for good ol funk
Danny Tenaglia for technical mastery

House music all night long...say whay...House music all night long baby!:fro: :fro: :fro: :fro: :fro: :fro: :fro: :fro:

mate, when im fucked i dont give a shit whos playing as long as the music is of a certain genre, the only exception is a live pa who go by the name of LAB 4.

I AM THE PERSON YOU SHOULD TALK TO HERE......

There is no question or argument....#1 jonathon peters...a.k.a.---J.P. I go to Factory Saturday's soley for the Music. Johny Vicious is 2nd because he has reveloutionized house muscic for NYC. Junior Jasquez it the godfather of house music. I haven't heard tenegalia but i know his style and he is just too groovy for me, he is very good though to a lot of people. Tony Draper is very hard (which i love!!!!) but he go's too commercial when he spins at exit. A dj you all should go here is jason ojeda!!! He rocked the shit out of the soundfactory and the hamptons. CHeck him out he is really good in my opinion (I love hard those hard evil beats) Scott project is a rarerity in N.Y. but he blows the speakers better THAN ANYONE I HAVE MENTIONED ON THIS LIST! SCOTT PROJECT WOULD BE NUMBER ONE IF HE WAS IN NEW YORK. but he is in germany and only makes special guest appearances.

other than that there is dj's that are good in other parts of the world other than NY.....including tiesto, oakenfold, sash, pvd, but don't fuk wit peters, HE'S EVIL:)

I think Judge Jules is a piece of shit now, he is too mainstream

Scott Bond - Gatecrasher, he played a killer mix on the Essential Mix @ Gatecrasher in '99, anyone remember this? i have been looking for a track called THE FLY but I dont know who the hell it was by

Paul Oakenfold - I mean live, non of that mainstream release Cream shit cd's or his own, I am talking that dark evil trancey stuff he plays at Cream, if youve been you will know what I am talking about.

Paul Van Dyke - Awesome, I like his spacey stuff.

Oliver Klein - He has released some real bangin tracks, has anyone heard his remixed 5 below 0 track, Club Quake, not bad huh.

DOM - This guy is from Leeds and is pretty underground, but some of his stuff will burn the floor.

Oops, forgot Lucient Forte, this guy is killer, anyone hear his essential mix set?

Also Lisa Lashes, some of that hardcore stuff is pretty funky funky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm gonna rant here a little, but I am a DJ so excuse me.

For starters, Junior Vasquez is not the godfather of house music. He will even admit to merely following Larry Levan's legacy from the Paradise Garage. If anyone can make that claim, it's Frankie Knuckles. Frankie would played stripped down disco tracks at a brand new club in Chicago called the Warehouse in the late 70's. Thats where the name House music came from.

I would also hardly say that Johnny Viscious revolutionized the NY house scene. He simply started making euro house tracks that people in Europe had been tired of hearing for about 3 years. Taste is always an individual thing, but I think JP sucks major a$$. I only go to Factory maybe once a year, but I have even read that he likes to play the same record continuously for 40 mins! Nobody cares cause they are too f$cked! He also has no variety in his set, its incredibly monotonous.

From A DJ's perspective, Danny Tenaglia is simply GOD! Listening to him is like watching Jordan play ball in his prime, observing an individual perform at a level so far and above anybody, it's inspiring.

The one's who make me dance the most are Carl Cox, Derrick Carter and Tony Humphries. Watching Cox jam in the booth and pumping the crowd with his hands, you go f$cking apesh!t. Derrick May, Rabbit in the moon, Josh Wink and Laurent Garnier are some of my other favorites.:fro:

GOOD RESPONSE FUNKORAM...BUT...

DO NOT JUDGE JP BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T EVEN HEAR HIM CONSECUTIVELY THROUGH A COUPLE WEEKS YET. He is not monotonous i am sorry. He keeps the crowd moving until at least 2pm...yes 3pm the next day. He can keep that place open util 4,5,6, and even 7pm sometimes. I can't juge Danny because i haven't seen him live but danny's crowd is MORE drugged out than jonathon's from what i here.
I AM NOT GOING TO ARGUE THIS IS AN OPINON BASED THREAD.....BUT PETERS IS STILL THE BEST.:D I TOTALLY RESPECT YOUR POST FUNKORAM

Jonathon Peters is the BEST DJ!!! Period of of story....Why else would he be the resident at Factory every fucking saturday.....? Exactly, he is sick!!! I have some great JP cd's which were put together by DJ John out of Staten Island....He is friends with JP and JP allows him to complicate CD's like "JP Live @ Factory"
Some of the Eixt vs. Soundfactory that JP is on are also sick....His hard beats are what makes hime sick....

wow lots of great dj's listed here. some i never heard of too, will have to go check it out. problem is, none of them come here!:(

JOHNNY VISICIOUS!!!!! he is faawking sick...i saw him at daddy o's in cancun and it was offf tha hook his beats are phat he knows his shit...i also saw him this past friday at the FacTory.....it was NUTS!!!

Bro, Danny's party usually ends at around 8-9 I believe(I am always too tired to make it to the end). Sound Factory saturday's runs until 2-3 in the afternoon the next day. You know people are on a couple of rolls or meth to be dancing that long. Or maybe I am just getting old????:fro:

DJ Tsettos is also very nasty and I love hearing him at Temps...He throws so much into the mix...

first off.....

rockz i know you didn't just say that:rolleyes:

Anyway, J.P. end of story .....finally got to meet him last sat. When he spins all hell breaks loose...... better than danny? I think so.

DJ N3CK!!! this fucker combines hard beats with fukin euphoric trance grooves. He truly beats out the composition in my book...including Jonathan Peters and Junior Vasquez! If you all havent heard him give him a try. You can get his mixes at bearshare and morpheus. Youll roll in a completely different way to his stuff.

peters is the sound factory!! JP gives that place a undescribable energy that i have yet to see anywhere else!!! JP spins and we follow!!!!

Hell yah Judge Jules rocks! I also love oakenfold, digweed, morgan, icey, sasha...

Next month I am actualy going to see Paul Van Dyke for the first time live. I cant wait...

oh yeah and triple v, if your mix is for cardio at any rate, I would definately look into hard nrg. Not sure otherwise. As much as i love electronica, I would actualy like to listen to rage against the machine white zombie and other violent groups when I lift. Just because it gets you pissed off.

it all depends on the type of music you like, im a breakbeat fan myself, so im an icey fan, Mike B, DJ trashy are some of my favorites.

i'm from the philly area....i would have to say the sickest weekly dj is dj nailz from boston....i've seen him 3 times live...i call up there every month and have them ship his cd to me....every month he doesn't cease to amaze me......i can't stand any philly dj's....even robbie tronco has sucked the last 5 times i heard him......i heard this dj at the tunnel the last thursday night George Acosta was there (uncle George is up there with my favorites)....whoever was the resident on thursdays at the tunnel (if anybody knows his name or where he spins now PLEASE LET ME KNOW)....he blew me away.

Tony Humphries
Derrick Carter
Carl Cox
Danny Tenaglia
Junior Vasquez
David Morales
Doc Martain
Joeski
Keoki (old shit 89-94)

I know I'm forgetting some heads.

The soul of the House scene in LA is dead...it's like recycled beats from 1995. If you want to hear some good old school find an old DX2 tape. DJ DAn when he still spun house on one side and Ron D Core on the other. That is classic.

JP and DT, hands down...

PVD & Paul O. are awesome also.

Tiestos is nice to though

Draper use to be good

JV was great but fell off, ...

M56M

DJ SCHMOO..................out of control!

straight outta Sweden!, a crazy mutha fucka named Schmoo Daddy.

Is the man in the East, N. Europe, S. Africa, and the Middle East. Doesnt want to bother with the mainstream bullshit that everyone else is putting out in the West.

you guys gotta trust me on this; SCMOOOOOOOOOOOOGE, DJ

Mind-Blowing, HAAAAAAAAARD, Hard beats!!!! HE's hardcore, 20-30 hour sets min.

paulie

I will only list my favorite acts that I have SEEN. Anyone can buy a CD.

Scott Bond (Gatecrasher)
Oakenfold
Rabit in the Moon (for the show experience)
Tiesto
Hybrid
Carl Cox
P.V.D.
Bad Boy Bill
Tall Paul

Ok ok I dont mean to be a dick or rag on somebodies opinion but in no way possible is J.P. one of the greats in the world. I actually really really enjoy him and have been a reg at the factory for many many years now but to compare him to worldwide acts is not realistic. I dont know who is the best but I can def name a few who in some point in their careers have ranked with the best. Picotto, PVD, Oakey, Howells, Deep Dish, Keoki, Jr, Cox. I have seen all of these guys in person and I can say that the best ongoing party was Keoki at the Limelight, but if I had to go to one party it would have to be Oakey cuz he brings out all types of people and he just amps you up the way he is sooo into his shows.

Steve lawler
Lucien Foort
Carl cox
James Zabiela
Danny Tenaglia
Darren Emerson
James Holden (not as good a dj as he is a producer)

Paul Van Dyk. I've seen alot of DJ's live now, but Paul has got to be my favorite and the best. The man was born to DJ. Truely an artist. He's pretty cute too :) Mmmmm PVD!! Purrrr

Others I like:
Armin Van Buuren
Cosmic Gate
Mauro Picotto
Pee Wee Ferris
BT

and Junkie XL - Okay that Elvis song was over played, but this guy absolutely goes off live. He played the cooooooolest Matrix song to start his set off at the last event I saw him at. I wish I had a camera :) I swear everyone in the arena turned and looked at the person next to them like "OMG! THIS IS SO FUCKING COOL!" Take the red pill, take the blue pill... :)! Ownage.

i've seen PvD twice live and both times he played memorable, night-ending sets. JXL rocks too.. i really like that song "Beauty Never Fades". have my very own copy on vinyl! :D

WOW you are so lucky nikolai! I wish I was going too :) He's already been here once this year, but he's meant to be coming back near the end of the year as well! Needless to say I will be there, and in the front row this time so I can get an autograph or maybe touch him a little :)! Hehe!

And Scottie2, you rock! I love Beauty Never Fades. In fact I'm always just walking around singing it hahaha. People wonder what the hell I am singing about :)

my favorite dj/mixer is probably Widelife,Hex Hector, Thunderpuss, Victor Calderone..gotta love those gay house with the phat tribal beats..)

i know man, that stuff is what the masses know as techno. i like to call it "pop dance" lol.. its entertaining for awhile, but after the radio stations play the latest song 24-7, it gets old real quick.

What about...

Junior Vasquez
Vitamin D (w/Sean Biddle = Floorfillez)
Satoshie Tomie
Timo Maas
Steve Lawler
Danny Tenaglia
Little Louie Vega
Erick Morrillo (when he doesn't spin CHEESE!)

These are a few of my favorites.

other house djs'/mixers:

Guido Osario
Manny Lehman
Liquid 360
Boris and Beck
Almighty
Mike Rizzo
Dezrok

but my favorites were the ones i mention earlier)

Erik Morillo sucks. I saw him live in San Fran like 2 months ago. The fucker was spinning CDs (pussy) and DOES NOT know how to keep the energy up in a club.

I've seen Oakey twice now. Once, 12/28/01 going through Atlanta on the way to Tampa for a bowl game (how incredibly the stars lined up for that!). And I just saw him in Jacksonville last Tuesday night (Just started dating a girl from there, she's off on Weds, and just a few days earlier checked out his website to see his tour dates... Again... in the stars).

Anyway, Paul Oakenfold is unequivacably The Man. I've been REALLY into Tiesto lately, and would definitely have to say that Tiesto is severely KICKING ASS right now. But, go to an Oakey show and you'll see (or like me) be reminded exactly why he is the World's Greatest DJ.

Now, if I can see Tiesto live in the next year or so while I'm still young enough to shake my ass, I can die a happy man. I'm really thinking Ibiza is in my future for next summer - and if things continue w/ my Jax Girl, the WMC is a definite next March.
