I'm gonna rant here a little, but I am a DJ so excuse me.
For starters, Junior Vasquez is not the godfather of house music. He will even admit to merely following Larry Levan's legacy from the Paradise Garage. If anyone can make that claim, it's Frankie Knuckles. Frankie would played stripped down disco tracks at a brand new club in Chicago called the Warehouse in the late 70's. Thats where the name House music came from.
I would also hardly say that Johnny Viscious revolutionized the NY house scene. He simply started making euro house tracks that people in Europe had been tired of hearing for about 3 years. Taste is always an individual thing, but I think JP sucks major a$$. I only go to Factory maybe once a year, but I have even read that he likes to play the same record continuously for 40 mins! Nobody cares cause they are too f$cked! He also has no variety in his set, its incredibly monotonous.
From A DJ's perspective, Danny Tenaglia is simply GOD! Listening to him is like watching Jordan play ball in his prime, observing an individual perform at a level so far and above anybody, it's inspiring.
The one's who make me dance the most are Carl Cox, Derrick Carter and Tony Humphries. Watching Cox jam in the booth and pumping the crowd with his hands, you go f$cking apesh!t. Derrick May, Rabbit in the moon, Josh Wink and Laurent Garnier are some of my other favorites.
