There are a few that have some positive studies.

CLA is one of them. I haven't used it myself. Some people say they notice a difference, some others say they didn't.

Most of those who experienced any effects, were likely obese or had a relatively high BF%.

DaBuffguy is correct, CLA is effective and the studies are there to prove it, however, if you're not in the higher % of bodyfat, then you're likely to see little to no benefits. Dabuff, it would be interesting to see if the people who gave you positive results fell into the higher BF% to those that gave you negative reviews of CLA.

However, There are lot of people who have seen an incredible leaning out effect with other fatty acids. Arachidonic Acid has been extremely helpful to many people on a cut. You could look into X Factor by Molecular Nutrition. I'd be able to answer any questions you had pertaining to this supplement.

You are probably right about that. And even then, it is hard to accurately gauge how much fat loss is attributed to the CLA because heavy people lose fat very easily.

So, there are studies that suggest it helps but in the overall view, I think it is still somewhat inconclusive.

I can't wait to get you a cycle of X Factor. I'm excited to see what your results are like.

Wouldn't synephrine fall into the stimulant category? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Not really. It doesn't cross the blood brain barrier and doesn't affect the central nervous system. It does give a slight hype to the metabolism -- comparable to a low dose of caffeine but has a fat burning effect that caffeine does not have. That's the problem with most stims. They're just high in caffeine so you have energy to burn calories but it does not directly burn adipose as does synepherine. But that is just a small part of what ZIP does. Most of the fat burning effect is from the thyroid activity.

Synephrine does have less of an effect on the beta 1&2 but it still stimulates the CNS.

Synephrine acts as a stimulant once inside the body, although it does metabolize and cascade differently than ephedrine and caffeine.

I guess without knowing why the OP can't take a stimulant, (ie. perhaps he is taking an MAOI or something that inhibits the CYP450). It may be best to avoid all stimulants since the effects can be amplified in many cases, even in the case of taking a soft-stimulant such as synephrine.

Just my 2 cents. Take it or leave it. :verygood:
