**fast And The Furious **

I liked the movie....I like all types of fast cars, american, imports, makes no difference to me. I love speed.

Lets think about this for a minute, Sure you can buy a 5 grand bigger muscle car, or you can spend 5 grand on a used rice burner, fix up both, and you can get the same thing...speed...I wonder if your using either car for a daily driver who's going to be filling up for gas first...

Personally I would like to take a Fiero, strip it down, and rebuild it from the ground up. Take a v8 conversion kit and drop a chevy 350 in.


Any other fiero fans here???
 
fieros are cool. handle damn good too. im all for a fast car regardless of who makes it. a car i would have HAS to handle though. my best handling car was my rx-7 or my room mates mr-2. rear wheel drive, well balanced. my new car, the talon, feels a bit heavy when i drive it. but damn good for speed.

ps...my room mate just got a chevy caprice, police package with the LT1 motor. (corvette engine) i call it the rocket couch. its fast as fuck stock. he dropped some flowmasters in it and of course cant leave it as is. im sure many goodies to come. the problem is...people keep slowing down when he pulls up. it has the spotlights on it and the rammer bumper. LOL. its too cool. we drove around with an afro wig on the other day, lookin like starsky and hutch or some other cheesy 70s cop show. :fro:
 
lol bignate - that reminds me of the first year of the Impala reissue - it had the corvette engine and the luxury package that basically looked like the caprice does now if memory serves.
I learned to drive on a 73 chevy impala that was gutted and had roll cage in it and mustang seats with 5 point seat belts. the thing was a fucking magnet for accidents and my dad did that too it and it saved our asses a few times. I don't know how it was cursed, but my dad was in 3 accidents in it, I was in 2 accidents in it, my stepmom 2, and one time a car rolled across an empty parking lot and embedded itself into the parked impala.
but when it was working, damn, you could blow a gallon of gasoline by leaving the stoplight.

as for fieros, I've always thought it felt like my ass was dragging on the ground while driving it. if something is going to be fast and I'm in it, I want to be able to survive if something goes wrong.
my friend has an M roadster and he just spend $10K fixing it recently when he wrecked it going 120 miles an hour into an embankment (this was on Sepulvada in LA and I think at that point the marked speed limit was 25mph).
he and his girlfriend didn't have a scratch, but they spun the car around a bunch of times and fucked up a bunch of stuff.
what sucks is that he makes around a million a year and hte $10K is nothing to him.
he also has a mazda that he got back before he had any money. his next car will be a viper he says.
he looked at rx-7's, and he loved it, but he had his reasons for not getting it.

and someone in one of these rice boy threads mentioned the honda s2000 - that thing sucks ass - if you are going to spend that much money, get a bmw roadster and look cool. the s2000 only has the horsepower that you talk about when you get MUCH higher into the RPMs - so even for around town driving you are going to be in 8000rpms a lot.
whatever - that is retarded. all cars if you drive them into 8000rpms are going to give out some big hp numbers.
 
Thats awesome, I went to highschool with a few guys that fixed up their RX7's and usually tore all the honda's up. I wish I had pics of an old buddy of mines supra. He's spent more money then I ever would have imagined on it.

At the highschool I went too you could find a few 911's, m3's, lot's of Saleen's and z28's, on the weekends you could find a few people driving daddy's ferrari....For some reason the cops were quick to pull those people over. A marketing teacher I had 69 cammaro he bought as a kid. He raced it every so often when we had races near the school.

i like the s2000 interior, but its not a hardtop....i gotta have a hardtop. yeah, the hp really kicks in at the top end so otherwise its kindof dull down low. but its obviously very well designed to get that much hp out of a 4 cylinder thats naturally aspirated. gotta hand it to honda on that one. only other motor that comes close with efficiency is a rotary.
 
my next car is going to be the Saab 9-5 Aero, but if things work out well enough with investments and promotions - I'm tempted to go for the M5. A neighbor on the street I used to live on in his driveway had an M5, a Volvo XC, an Audi S4, and a turbo beetle that was apparently some special color that they didn't make many of.
and on the way into work if I take the back roads, there is occasionally a guy in front of his house washing his Diablo. I suspect he worked at Oracle up the road early on and made mucho dollars via that. or he sells drugs.

Hey Happy what makes you want a Saab Aero? My friend just sold his Saab Viggen, not a bad car, over priced though. Front wheel drive had a bunch of torque steer so it was real sloppy on launch.

i want a lingenfelter twin turbo corvette, or yeah yeah, thats it, a henessey twin turbo dodge viper gts, baddest mofo on the road. but i wouldnt mind being a lucky ass and ending up with a c5 (torch you make me green with envy!) ;)
