I'd really like to do some farmers, but cant find anyone around here that can make them...does anyone know of a place that will ship to Washington State that makes them, or a way to make some heavier ones than the milk carton idea by iron?
 
I've gotten 80% of my stuff from a local steel yard. Chances are pretty good that they will have the necessary stuff, and also know someone who can weld them for you, if they don't do it themselves.
 
what stuff do you need for it though? anyone have a diagram? or is it as simple as they look?
 
yea, i was told about jason..thought it was his brother that makes em...but I dont think he would ship this far...I wish he would though!!
 
I just put mine together by using 2 easy-curl bars, a couple nylon straps, and to 1 1/2 inch pieces of pipe for the handles. They work great, and it was really cheap.

Thank you very much, I would appreciate that a lot...Im just not sure how youre attaching the nylon straps and pipe onto it..

The nylon straps are 8 feet long, and are adjustable. I adjusted them to the desired length, and then ran one end through the 6 inch pipe. The 2 "loops" then went over the ends of the easy curl bar. That way I can adjust how low the famers hang. And how far I have to pick them up.:D

so the weights are holding the nylon straps on each side in? or do are they secure on there somehow...and where did you get the straps from? anywhere normal I could find some?

You can either have the straps held by the weights, or they will pretty much stay in place on one of the "humps" on the easy curl bar. I have mine on the 2 humps.


I got my straps at Home Depot. About $3 for 2 of them.

That's pretty much the idea right there. I am just using easy curl bars. Otherwise, the DB's hit my legs when I walk. But you can see how they loop it through the pipe. Same idea I used.


EDIT: Added another picture from the site of how they loop it through.

My brother does make them. Are you going to be at the Bluegrass competition? I'm also trying to talk my brother into checking on shipping rates.
