so wasteful
so fast
so fun...one day they will be long gone
:(

250cc YZ bike... that thing had more torque than I could handle at the time... almost hit a few trees riding the trails. Good times.

As, so stroke is a cross product.

I should totally read a book about cars or something. I don't even know what a stroke is.

:cow:

oil and gas mixed together and burned.
piston fires on the up and down stroke.
4 stroke the oil just lubicrates, does not combust
piston only fires on down stroke

2 stroke motor = gotta mix oil and gas, loud screaming motor

4 stroke motor = staight up gas, quieter low tone usually

annnnd that's about all i remember.

Samoth, a car has a four-stroke engine. Intake, compression, combustion and exhaust. A two-stroke engine combines these operations.

Two-strokes generally produce higher power due to the engine firing on every revolution of the crankshaft, where four strokes require two revolutions of the crank for each ignition cycle.

So is a 3 stroke like those annoying rice burners with loud high-pitched hums?

i've been bleeding money these last few days snowmobiling
avg about 10 miles a gallon, quart of oil every 150 miles

Ahh, okay. That makes sense.

The crankshaft's that long, spinning pole underneath a moving car, right?

We love it when you talk nasty.

Oooh, it's in the engine. Now I get it.

Man, horses are so much simpler...

:cow:
now for the damn life of me and I can not think of what the hell you were describing.. before as the crank shaft. AHHHH, i should know this :(

I can point it out in a pic if i find one but i can't think of the damned name

drive shaft?... I think that's it!!!!

Never was a fan of 2-strokes, dunno why really. It was pry cuz I couldnt stand the sound of them damn things. I have fam that races motocross and I have been telling them for years to switch to 4-strokes, back then 2-strokes were dominant. NOW 4-strokes are dominant.

I do like my 2-stroke Snapper push mowers. Those things are bulletproof and dont take hardly any maintenance.

once you get a 4 stroke motor down google the rotary engine and then the quadturbine rotary engine. both are amazing in their own respects.

i'm a fan of the quick power they provide
i'm not a fan of their lack of durabillity

dont have much experiencce with snowmobiles
replacing top-ends or reeds or what?
breaking crank arms
losing compression
replacing pistons
all this and more under 5k miles

Love the 2 stroke m/c. I've owned (2) KX 125's before and they both had more than enough power for me. I don't see how anyone can ride bikes like a CR500 2 stroke. Way too much power. Seems like you would be holding on rather than riding a beast like that. Even though the 4 strokes have came a long way; there's nothing like feeling the power band of a 2 stroke kicking in. Awesome power.
