However I would'nt be upset if my son or daughter had a gay teacher, what I would get pissed at is if that teacher pushed gay views on the kids. BUt I'd be equaly upset if a straight teacher tried telling my children homosexuality was wrong !.
Naturally as he grows up I'd prefer him to be straight, but if he was to come and tell me he's gay later I don't think it would be the end of the world. I believe that homosexual behaviour is harmful to individuals and society as a whole for several reasons;

Scriptural
1.) Yes, the Scriptures (both Old & New testaments) make no bones about the fact that God has commanded us not to commit homosexual acts. (Lev 20:13) (James 1:13-15) (1 Corinthians 6:9)
2.) Jesus the Christ upheld the Jewish Scriptures, and as the earthly incarnation of the God who is "the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow" (Heb 13:8). Jesus preached a message of repentance; that the sentence of sin could be averted by true repentance and turning away from the sinful behaviour. He said, "Go, and sin no more." (John 8:11)
To restate, we all sin, but the key is to turn away from the sin and repent of it, not to keep committing the same offenses believing that all will be forgiven.

3.) In my own life I have had many homosexual friends, and the neighborhood in which I lived for a few years in Seattle was predominantly gay. I saw the excesses, the abuse, the imbalance an dexcesses, the sadness, the emptiness, the destruction that the 'lifestyle' leads to. I heard how many of my 'gay' friends had stories of sexual abuse from their childhoods; that seemed an almost constant thread in their lives, perhaps contributing to their homosexuality.
4.) I have seen, in my own more than 30 years of life, that the farther I stray from God's instructions, the worse my life, health, mental state, etc. get, and teh closer I stay with God's instructions, the better things are. And I see this is on a sociological level as well. With the most 'gay' cities being the most crime-ridden areas with the worst drug probs, etc.
Not saying that the homosexuals are resonsible for the crimes, just that the environment that welcomes such "tolerance" also suffers other problems due to am inability to put their foot down for right and wrong.

My own take on this is that I started work as an actuary back in 93 , and one of the very first tasks I was involved in was to examine the effects AIDS was having on the heterosexual community. So many declared heterosexual deaths from the disease had abrasions on their rectal cavities that suggested some homosexual activity. Bottom line was that AIDS didn't have an effect (then) on heteros in Ireland.

I've done a lot of work on statistical interpretation of populations over the years and personally I feel that there is little evidence to support a theory that anything more than 0.5% of a population could be BORN homosexual. Therefore once again I find myself in agreement with the Weapon in that enviromental factors are far the dominant influence in the formation of this behaviour. Hence it is fair to call it "unnatural".
