....NOT why we have the constitutional right to bear arms. Now I will get the "Those ideas are out dated" argument, which is a complete fukin atrocity. You need weapos to defend yourself from your own overtaxing, overempowered government. Paranoid? Don't think so, that is why the damned right is in the constitution in the first place.

Ryan - you speak of a "rare" occurrence that takes the argument no where, well in my life that occurrence will be non existent, and it is only because my wife and I each can operate the weapons in my house.

Hey BigPhysicsBAstard, the purpose of the Second Amendment is that the citizenry (th Militia) could, if necessary, hold their own against footsoldiers. That means the citizenry is "allowed" to own what the average footsoldier can carry.
I'm not making this up. Do some research on documents contemporary with the Second Amendment, and recods of teh discussions about the FOunding Fathers' decisions.
