extremely hard gainer looking for advice

xpokerdonkx

New member
I am 29 6'4 and weigh roughly 180 to 185 depending on the time of day. I have worked out off and on my entire life but never for any reason other than staying in shape. My metabolism has always been my biggest challenge. I can literally eat anything and everything and I can not put on weight. I am currently on a 7 meal a day diet and I am consuming roughly 200grams of protein.

As stated I am 29 and I am at a point in my life where I would like to weigh 200lbs and be toned. I am not looking to be a body builder or anything along those line I merely want be in shape and have an ass for once in my life.

Ok, having stated all of that I have been reading everything I can, a moderate amount of time being allowed for this, and I am so confused. I am not looking for sources or prices or anything along those lines. Just some simple honest advice. I don't want to cycle 3 different things and I am not looking to gain the weight over night. I have been reading about primobolan and was thinking about trying it out.

Given my age height weight etc.. would taking primobolan orally in a low dosage for 6-8 weeks at least give me a boost in the right direction?

I am definitely open to any and all suggestions, just keep in mind my goals and that I really don't like the idea of injecting anything.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Justin

You should probably be posting this in the diet and bodybuilding forum instead of anabolic forum. You should probably just work on eating the appropriate amount of calories and appropriate food.. In the end, if we eat more than we burn we will gain weight. You can probably afford to eat more carbs and get your protein up to at least 300g per day.

One of the things I hate the most are the people who say "I am a hardgainer so I need to take steroids to help me grow." No, you are not a hardgainer. There is no such thing. There are fast metabolisms, and there are slow ones. If yours is fast, you need to eat a lot more. If you cannot eat properly, steroids won't do anything for you. You are 6'4, 185lbs and eating 200g of protein? If you are trying to pack on some muscle mass, you need to be eating way more protein than that. Protein is not the only thing you focus on when packing on mass. You need a lot of carbs, and a lot of healthy fats. You need to eat the proper macronutrients at the proper times each day. I doubt you eat the way you should be. You may think you are, but you are not. Head over to the diet section, because if your diet isn't correct (which it isn't) how do you expect the steroids to do anything?

FYI juicing is gonna speed up your metabolism and you will be eating like a horse nonstop and have a voracious appetite. i would wake up at 5am starving and when i would go to restaurants i would have to order for 2 plus an appetizer, and I'm not a large guy. so not sure if that is your solution.

sounds like you naturally have a high metabolism and that is something you will have to work around, not a bad thing though if you accept it.

o yeah! Eating like a horse is right!

You don't need aas. You need a proper diet. Post up what you eat everyday. That would be a good start.

THERE LIES THE PROBLEM ,Ok Lets start all over

heres you a list of foods to eat and how often.
You need at least 6-7 smaller servings per day with some Protein in each. You can do this by eating clean whole foods, not processed.
Protein should come a variety of things.Seafood is one of the best sources of Protein because it's usually low in fat. Fish such as salmon is a little higher in fat but it is the heart-healthy kind: omega-3 fatty acids.

White-Meat Poultry
Stick to the white meat of poultry for excellent, lean Protein. Dark meat is higher in fat. The skin is loaded with saturated fat, so remove skin before cooking.

Milk, Cheese, and Yogurt
Not only are dairy foods -- like milk, cheese, and yogurt -- excellent sources of Protein but they also contain valuable calcium. Choose skim or low fat dairy to keep bones and teeth strong, prevent osteoporosis, and enhance weight loss.

Eggs
Eggs are one of the least expensive forms of Protein. The American Heart Association says normal healthy adults can safely enjoy an egg a day.

Beans
One-half cup of beans contains as much Protein as three ounces of broiled steak. Plus, these nutritious nuggets are loaded with fiber to keep you feeling full for hours.

Pork Tenderloin
This great and versatile white meat is 31% leaner than 20 years ago.

Soy
Twenty five grams of soy Protein daily can help lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease. Combine soy Protein foods like tofu with a healthy low fat diet.

Lean Beef
Lean beef has only one more gram of saturated fat than a skinless chicken breast. Lean beef is also an excellent source of zinc, iron, and vitamin b12.

Protein on the Go
Grab a meal replacement drink, cereal bar, or energy bar. Check the label to be sure the product contains at least six grams of Protein, and is low in sugar and fat.
Needtobuildmuscle has a wide variety of supplements that is an excellent source of nutrition.

Unstanding how to eat,The best way to provide the diet with complex carbohydrates is to consume foods in their most natural state such as oatmeal, bran and brown rice.

Here is a interesting thing for people that have a hard time eating as much as they need to:

GOMAD: How to Gain 25lbs in 25 Days with Squats & Milk | StrongLifts.com

Very one sided diet and nothing you do in the long run, very cheap to do.

After you have gained weight this way your body will ask for more food so you learn indirectly to eat more this way. Sure you will put on fat but if you are as you say a "hardgainer" you wont have any problem getting rid of that fat and keeping most muscle with a high protein diet.

So based of this article I should def drop the low fat and pick up whole milk. And a gallon a day WOW! Thanks for the post though!

love this program didnt gain 25lb but sure taught me how to squat!

I recommend for really hard gainers to mix BIG BLAST with whole milk, or even Half and Half.

Crap, I eat more than that off-cycle and I'm an insulin-dependent diabetic! :D

Radar & Nelson hit the bullseye!! Radar gave a wealth of good diet info and I second what Nelson said about BigBlast. Add a diet as suggested PLUS BigBlast, you will GROW dude!! Icing on the cake would be to add some gear to it throughout the day. Get gear at needtobuildmuscle.com. Better Bars are also delicious and all natural!!

I agree with most of what you say about eating more protien, carbs, etc. But to say there is no such thing as a hard gainer is total bull. If your weak theory was true everyone would have the potential to compete as MR. O and thats simply not true. Yes his diet needs some work I agree completely, even with steriods hes only gonna achieve what is genetically possible for him.

I have been eating met-rx big 100 colossal bars because of the calories and protein content. 410/31

I recently just bought 6 random bars to see what I like best because the met-rx ones are not very tasty.

Given all the info in this post I need to stick with more a meal replacement bar opposed to just a protein bar. The met-rx has the most cals of the ones I have.

The better bars seem to have good cals but what are they exactly? The description says pour mix and your done. No baking required? So its not a bar its more so a paste you mix and eat??

Thanks for the input.

Stay away from protien bars that use sugar alcohol In the ingredients. It acts as a laxative which in turn is counter productive to absorbtion of nutrients, protiens, etc. otherwise your just flushing money down the toliet, literally.

Also I think maybe its harder for someone like myself to understand because I have never worked out to get big so to speak and thus have never researched, before now, what I need to complete this goal. I am a runner by nature, I typically run 4-5 times a week. I understand this is not helping me in with my ultimate goal but its something I love. I realize now that what I thought was a sufficient amount of calories and protein is far less than I should be consuming based off of all the posts thus far.

Also, as far as supplements goes...everyone is talking about gear. I read about it on the site and for what I gather you can basically take it anytime you want? And it does not give a max amount per day? Can someone please suggest a daily dose?

I am currently taking no-xplode, pre workout. I take sizeon during my work out. and then just multivitamins and protein powder.

Can someone say 'keep what you currently do and add this' or 'drop what your doing now and try this'?

Again, Thanks for the help guys.

I have to agree.. I'm not a fan of 95% of the protein bars out there.. too much sugar, too much crap in them.. i guess if it doesn't taste good it wont sell so they have to put in a lot of crap/sugar to sell the product.

I did run into a wonderful peanut butter protein bar once in my healthfood store, but that was around the time we had that peanut butter scare so it was pulled off the shelves plus i'm sure it didn't taste good enough for the common joe schmo to buy. haven't seen it since.
