I don't understand the problem with having to go to the post office to sign for a package. I have never heard of them setting up an agent to just sit at the PO for days waiting for someone to come in and sign.

ya you guys need to grow some fucking balls there are alot bigger problems then fucking steroids and they are not gonna waste thousands of dollars on an investigation to bust someone for like 500 worth of juice..

Exactly. The worst they are going to do is seize the package. You would have to have a serious amount of juice for them to have an agent wait for days (or weeks) at the PO on the chance that you are coming in to sign for your package.

exactly and alot more drugs come through the mail then fucking steroids.. which actually many cops and gov agents prob. do themselves... they go after the big dogs remember that.. why spend 10k on an investigation to bust someone with 1k worth of crap..

Express mail is being watched more closely, plus its expensive and doesn't get anywhere that much sooner usually.

From my understanding, (and please correct me if I'm wrong) neither Priority nor express mail are subject to 4th amendment priviledge because there is no assumption of private correspondence. First class is, however. Plus, you can still do delivery confirmation with first class. I do that when I pay my CC bills because they tried to pull some "late payment" bs, when I knew it got there on time.

Typically no, but they have been know to pick off the "low hanging fruit" to trace back up the chain.

Just be careful.

You raise a good point to which I do not know the answer. Bump for info on 4th amed. rights.

true but some people waste money on resources that they dont need.. ie drops.. 999 times out 1000 if they intercept a small package you'll receive a letter..

Express mail also get recorded, whereas Priority does not.

The only source of mail with the USPS that can be 'freely' opened is MEDIA mail, which they clearly state in the PO. Priority and express mail cannot be just opened without a warrant; however, private carrier express like UPS/FedEx can open your package anytime (it's right on the back of the package with you buy the service).

I think the best of FedEx, DHL or UPS (overseas) is the tracking system, clearence processing takes only few hours every morning and you can to know the status anytime so if you see any delay on that you shouldn't accept or receive the package,...it's so simple
Also only takes 3 days to delivery.......

This should pretty much sum that up.

I have worked in the shipping industry for years so maybe I can add something here. While it's true that a search warrant isn't required at UPS/Fed Ex to open a package, keep in mind that employee theft is a greater concern than illegal shipments, and very, very few employees are authorized to open packages. If an employee opens a package then they better have a damn good reason for doing so or they will be fired, regardless what is in the package. Also, keep in mind that the vast majority of illegal shipments are sent overnight and everyone in the the shipping industry knows that- better to slow it down a little.

Yup, you're right, all private carriers have a system in place - for me, it just scares me to know they can open my package without a warrant, what I call "freely."

Personally, I've only heard of one time a private carrier opened a domestic package, but it was for a good reason from what I remember - so it's a prevalent in the industry, that's something I agree with 100%.
