Explain this to me please (insulin)

Insulin, by itself, is not an effective anabolic. (If it were, diabetics such as Mary Tyler Moore would be huge.)

Insulin, in combination with androgen and resistance exercise, may trigger maturation of satellite cells (small, more or less useless cells that are held in reserve, which do not contribute to muscular strength) into mature muscle cells. The advanced steroid user may have plateau'd in that respect, and adding insulin can give new gains.

I don't think anyone knows whether short or long acting is more effective for building muscle. They seem to be about equally effective. A problem with long acting appears if it would continue acting while asleep: one might die if insufficient carbs had been taken.
Not something to be taken lightly, can make you diabetic, also. GH/insulin are an awsome combo---for experience users only.

so basically there are cells in muscle tissue that dont do crap and insulin can activate them? thats weird and ive never heard it before. how does using insulin to lower blood sugar levels help make you huge?

insulin help nutrients to make their way into muscle- and fat cells. amino acids and glycogen go into muscle cells, fat into fat cells. if after a workout muscle cells are in need of nutrients more insulin helps to stuff more nutrients into these cells, amino acids to repair and grow tissue, glycogen for refueling. if the workouts are intense enough and proper eating insulin alone seems to be very anabolic. insulin is a double edged sword though since it also opens up fat cells, you can get fat easily if you eat too much.
it works the other way around also. carbs trigger insulin release. if you omit carbs in your diet you will not get fat easily because even if you eat too much excess fat has a hard time getting into fat cells. but you can't grow effectively on a low carb diet.

for the average athlete eating carbs+protein after workout should trigger enough insulin release. additional exogeneous insulin does help but its quite dangerous. it would be interesting to find out how many ppl are using insulin because its readily available and more safe options like steroids are not.

i have not heard about insulin and satellite cell fusion/maturation either; i would rather attribute that to high dose (600mg test/week) androgen supplementation.

it overcomes insulin resistance, insulin is very anticatabolic allowing for more growth, speeds nutrient uptake post workout, etc. theres more to it also but I just woke up and thats all u get outta me ;-)
