JUST A REMINDER....2 days from today, all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls.

YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS....

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222. It is the National DO NOT CALL list.

It blocks your number for five (5) years.

Is that another one of your rape victims in your avatar?

those are my hoo haa's
seriously no their not

Does this really work? I know a thing or two about telephony. In the past, there was a number of scams where actually calling a given number would get you charges or actually validate your number for telemarketers... sort of like reverse engineering the dealio.

can this be checked?

I did this, like, 9 months ago. I don't know when this evil campagn is to begin, but I have yet to recieve any junk calls on my cell to date.

And I'll be pissed beyond belief if I start getting junk calls on my cell. Like, out to kill people pissed.

:cow:

this is sort of embarassing to have as sticky material though, basically a glorified chain letter!

In the 8 or so years I've had a cell phone, I've had 3 or 4 telemarketers call. I blasted everyone of them.
Doesn't happen often, but it sends me into a murderous rage.

Hmm... I've had Sprint since late '99, and never once had a telemarketer call my cell. Odd...

I have had a few......

the point even in the "urban myth" article was that your name will go on a list that IS off limits to most telemarketers.

Every one I got , they didn't realize they were calling a cell, so, I'll give them that, but still, they used my air time.
