Ever feel this way?

Ever feel like your just a convenience? Ever feel that you are just a plan B???

For instance...when I started courting my ex, she was dating a guy in jail!! Crazy but true. Well, I think she went out with me cuz i was a better choice than that slob. Then, we got engaged. She accepted cuz I had money, I wasn't abusive, and I was her ticket to marriage (which all girls want). First chance she gets though...Bamo...cheat city.

So this is my theory. She went out with me cuz I was better than plan A (jailbird). She got engaged to me cuz I was fun (like an amusement ride), and I offered her what many little girls dream about (that dream girl wedding shit).

She cheated cuz she realized that I was a dime-a-dozen. Why settle for one cock...when you can have the variety pack. Who can blame her.

you are angry right now and we will speak later.

You have better things to do with your time. Have you ever tried caligraphy? How bout photography? Living up north, I bet there's a bunch of Caribou or whatever you call em...The big deer thingies. Those make cool pics.

As for me, I'm going to re-evaluate my self-worth. Maybe listen to my mom's advice for a change.

I'm not angry...just suddenly aware of things now.

Same thing happened with me and a chick, but here other guy was in the Army.

Bitch went back to him when he came back from some 3rd world country and kept the ring. Stinking hoe, will be long time before I put 2 g's on a broad's finger agian

No.

When women fall in love with me, they devote their entire being to me. I used to think it was cool and all, but sometimes, when they build fifty foot high shrines dedicated to you in the front lawn, it gets to be a bit much.

I've learned to deal though.

I crucify them on twenty foot tall chopsticks if they get out of line.

Well now that you mentioned it...YES! In a couple of situations I have felt like an "emotional crutch". The STRONG one that was there for them long enough for them to get back on their feet. All the while getting "sweet nothings" whispered in my ear just enough to believe I meant something to them. When in fact it was all "make believe".

You know sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be a jerk. I mean so many men seem to pull it off. Moving from woman to woman...havin fun at their expense...and no regret cuz they dont care. Women seem to eat that shit up...or at least have come to accept it. Then someone like me comes along that genuinely cares about them...and it a) freaks them out and they dont know how to deal with it...or b) they take advantage of me. Being completely obtuse to others feelings would be so much easier....but I'm the one that has to look myself in the mirror in the morning.

Hannibal's post on the lure of the "jerk" (the millionth thread!) made me think of one more thing on the subject:

Lots of guys are very much jerks, no better than the guy in the wife-beater and the chains and the "you bitch, comere."

It's just they have this "moral vanity" thing going on where they THINK they're not jerks. They think they're sensitive new age guys (absolutely not pointing to Hannibal or anyone in particular with this post). Oh, but they're not. And in a situation where honor/integrity is sincerely called for, there is NO guarantee that wife-beater-t-shirt man will be the one sitting out.

Sometimes, a guy whose jerkiness is overt is better than the guy for whom it's hidden. 'Cause then you can discover the nice guy, and in the opposite case, you discover the jerk. And that SUCKS!

Who a lot of guys think they are, and who they actually are, isn't always the same. Sometimes SPECTACULARLY DIFFERENT!

That's not only guys, of course. That's everyone. That's human nature.

It is modernity......and the media that we watch.......

not our nature.....

the media has conditioned us to think that we must be something we are not in order to succeed....in every realm, externally, internally, socially, exestentially.

the perpetuation of inferiority complexes by this industry and the push to sell us goods through the creation of those complexes has led humanity astray.....thus even our social behavior, as to who we really are......has suffered, and has become commodoty like, we change our personalities, like we change a pair of shoes.

DONKEY BALLS TO THAT!!!!!!!!!

So you're going with the "blame the media"? Hey, that's fair. I agree that the media is way more powerful than any of us know.

But I do think you'll find that identity crises and self-delusion and confusion about who the hell any of us are predates what you call "modernity." If you read any historical record.

(I only take this patronizing tone with you because you took it with me, and gave donkey balls to what I said. And prior to that, you bold/large fonted me. Dude, are you gunning for me or something? Whatever.....)

You humans make me laugh *giggles* your silly love, heartaches, and breakups. Us hobbits prefer to live by ourselfves, much more relaxing this way. pull up a chair, smoke on your pipe and read a good book :)

"WHAT FOOLS THESE MORTALS BE", huh?

Not a hobbit, but a "puckish" sprite said that.

I think this post is awesome.
I blame Hollywood/TV and greed for many social ills.

DUDE ET'

"DONKEY BALLS" TO THE STATE THAT WE ARE IN.

not too you.

plus you are not matronizing, or patronizing.

any way.

"THE BLAME THE MEDIA" thing is not a cliche' as most people would superficially think.

if you look at the present demographic, and realize that the new culture that is arrising is a heterogenous gray race, that has no culture, hence, no cultural History......you realize that this new breed of person has an inherate vulnerability, as to the nature, and construct of their identity. That is they have no ties to the past, no data base of information to extrapallate from

So culture, and the lessons of the past are supplanted by the new culture, and information that this population injests, and is bombarded with every day.....and since these messages come from essentilly a few centralized corpoartions with a very specific interest (to sell goods through advertising) this poulation is bread like cattle, for the market. So our new generation from day one is indoctrinated, and fed perceptual schmatic of reality, that is most conducive to consumerism, so the power ful can make maximum prophets..............

and the ramifications to politcs.. and social behavior....is even worse.

If it makes you feel any better, something similar happened to me.

Met a girl over the net, and we talked for several months via chat and phone before I went down to meet her. She lived about 10 hours away from me. We had discussed her moving away from home to be with me, depending on how we hit it off. Well, we got along great, and rather than giving it more time, we made the sudden decision to have her move in with me.

Things went fine, for the most part, over the next year. She made several trips back home, without me, to visit friends and family. Never thought much of it. Well, after the last trip, she was acting really odd. Found out she had cheated on me on this last trip with a guy she'd been friends with for years who had just gotten out of prison. And she gave me the whole song and dance of "he's like a brother".

She left me to be with him, he ended up being a real ass, ran the both of them into debt, and didn't work out at all.

Anyway, that's the really, really short version of what happened to me, but I'm over it now. I'm much happier now than I was with her.

Just so you know, you're not the only one...
