Ever feel like you wont ever get the "magic" back?

You first meet someone.

Excitement like a teenager, much anticipation.

First time you call you talk for hours and wonder where theyve been all your life.

First date is simple yet unforgettable, lots of sparks in the air, then making out like kids in the car after the restaurant closes.

Everything falls into place but theres no "rut" or boredom. Both of you are simply happy being in each others presence.

The sex is like nothing youve ever experienced.

Talk of the future with this person comes naturally, theres no apprehension.

Then you become afraid of the love you have and leave it all out of fear.

Years go by and nothing else comes close to what you had with that person.

Then one day you wake up and wonder: Will you ever get the magic back again? Or does that type of thing happen only once while you are an adult (if you are lucky)?

The older you get the harder it is to have those sort of magical relationships.

I often feel that way after cracking open a new book. Hell, even the author's bio reads well. First page, first chapter, the reading is so good so hot, so easy to read you are transformed into a character in the book.

The chapters fly by and it's the best book ever and you wish it would never end yet you must continue to read like a madman because you can’t wait to find out what happens next.

Then it happens - you've read the last chapter and while you're smiling because the reading experience was so delicious and those story lines were just as you would write them had you written your own book.

The book, broken in and ever so slightly worn makes in to the floor under the bed with all the other most fabulous books and you start to feel a certain melancholy because you not sure if you'll ever find another just as good.

I've had that once. Hopefully I will again.
