hypothetical...

there's a burning building with just two people trapped inside: your 90-year-old grandmother (who's in fine health for her age), and a stranger's 2-year-old daughter. You can only rescue one. Who do you choose?

...and no, rescuing the beer from the fridge or similar snarkery isn't an option.

The 2 year old. The 90 year old with her life experience should know what to do in a fire to lengthen her window of survival therefore increase the chances of rescue. Also a 2 year old is easier to carry than a grown woman.

My g'ma would be disappointed in me if I would have helped her out instead of a child. Although I know this beyond the shadow of a doubt, I'd still feel sick every day until I died that I let my Nana die in a fire.

family > stranger. sorry.

Ridiculous to say an old person's life is not as valuable. What if doctor's thought like that. One day you'll be old, and people will think that way of you.

1) Throw gasoline on both.
2) Grab the kid because my 90 year old grandma is already dead. A few more scorch marks won't hurt.
