Dre 2001 by Dre
The Infamous by Mobb Deep
Reasonable Doubt by Jay-Z
The BluePrint by Jay-Z
The Lost Tapes by Nas
Full Clip by Gang Starr
One Day It'll All Make Sense by Common
Be by Common
All Eyez on Me by Tupac
The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest

I think you covered it all.

I'd take off 8 mile, but that is just me.

great fuckin list though.

There are a few people missing from that list. Give me a minute to find the correct titles.

Enter the Wu-Tang. Geez, the memories. My eyes are starting to water.

Yeah, I just threw that in there because I think it has the best hip-hop song of all time. Plus it's a soundtrack, it's good, and it's hard to make a good soundtrack. It's about life in hip-hop and it includes so many people.

Raising Hell by Run DMC and NWA Straight Outta Compton are over-rated IMO, but they are bench mark albums.

your list looks good.
eninem is by far one of my favorites. Nas is pretty good as well.
although we shall never forget tupac!

take kanye right the fuck outta there. he has not EARNED the same space as gangstarr

also, I would personally add Blowout Comb - Digable Planets and Liquid Swords - GZA, Cuban Linx - Raekwon

Labcabincalifornia - Pharcyde is a personal favorite classic

Also, if you peeps don't have a single Gang Starr album, get Full Clip. It's all of their best work in a two disc set. Jazzy beats.

I thought I would get shit if I put those up their lol. Cuban Linx and Liquid Swords are gangster as hell. I could stab my dog listening to that shit.

you ever hear Blowout Comb - Digable Planets?

Bro - it's smooth as fuck. That shit was so unique for it's time. Buy that shit man, you will not be disappointed

Check out The Lost Tapes by Nas, it's the real Stillmatic IMO.

I don't really like them as I said, but they are definitely influential.

Half of their song sucked, even on Niggaz4Life but it was the shit back then. It made all the other rappers look like a bunch of softcore newbies. Kindda like 2 Live Crew

Agreed. Express Yourself, Straight Outta Compton and Compton's in the House are my favorite tracks.

no De la, Pete Rock & CL, or Tupac on there maing?

Slick Rick (his 1st one), Children's Story, Hey Young World. Geez

The Lost Boys (their 1st one). Okay, that may just be a Queens thing. I'm biased.

Big Daddy Kane - Smooth Operator (which ever album had Warm It Kane), was my favorite of his.

What was the name of the group that a member named Sticky Fingers (yes, I know he had the ebonics version of that word)??

ONYX?

Tribe Called Quest- Midnight Marauders

Dana dane
Ice Cube - Amerikkkas Most Wanted, 1000 miles and running
Fat Boys -The Twist and the whipe out(LOL)

And I know he doesn't have any classic ablums, but Jada Kiss is easily one of my favorite artists. Dude has some sick flows. SICK.

I think he's the best mix tape rhymer out there

No Pharcyde???

You have to include Doggystyle on that list.

great list for the most part. I'd have to throw in
Big L - Lifestylez of the poor and dangerous.
Ghostface - Ironman
Big daddy kane - it's a big daddy thing (amongst others)
Kool G rap - Road to the riches (amongst others)
Pete Rock + CL Smooth - Mecca of the soul brother
Tribe called quest - I know you mentioned them, but i think all of their albums are classic
Capone N Noreaga - The war report (sooooo underrrated)
De La Soul - 3 Feet High and Rising
BDP/Krs one - Criminal minded + Return of the boom bap
The Roots - Illadelphia halflife
The beatnuts - self titled album

those all come to mind

LOL, I hate Jada. Half of the community shits on him including Rev Run.

He has some of the sickest flows out there. I don't get into that "who hates who" shit. His rhymes are amazing. His albums all suck, but there may be no better mix tape flower out there other than Jay Z

Damn, I'm getting flashbacks here.

First tape I ever played in my first car when I first got my license - Roots single with What they Do and Respond / React on it.

THis thread is honestly making me consider sitting home one day this weekend, rolling a garcia vega and breaking out the classics. damn

This thread is a HUGE reminder that I need to get my ass back to NYC. ASAP.

I'm inclined to feel the same lol, however....

what this really reminds me of how much a disgrace hip hop is now and i think it's eventually gonna completely regress till no one listens to it anymore. When you hear shit like laffy taffy (made off a fuckin casio keyboard beat...i think i made the same beat when i was 3 years old banging the keys) and all the other down south mindless garbage being played all the time...it's depressing

Then the true hip hop will be reborn (one can only hope)

it's all about the underground man. there are still skilled MC's out there, they are just tougher to find.

yeah, but it's sad....because before the underground didn't really exist...good music was just good music. The crap you hear now would have NEVER survived a demo let alone be played on the radio in the late 80's to mid 90's.
I'd say even up until 1999 or so. All the good MC's still had major precense. Now it seems like they're just fading in the background

Kool Moe Dee

For me, hip-hop died around 2000. Sure, there have been some good albums. But, nothing as great as the albums in the late 80's and early-mid 90's. (IMHO)

Looks good EXCEPT the 8 mile soundtrack it was gheigay:
Busta Rhymes, all
Fabolous, all
I'm including all Outkast albums-my fav. period
All Mobb Deep
The Game
DMX years ago, not his new stuff
NWA Nizzles 4 life
Eazy-E 5150, its on

Ghostface Killah-all
all Jay Z
all Nas except Illmatic its gaheigh

ok, these picks completely ruined this thread.

busta rhymes? LOL....probably one of the worst album releasers ever. Has like 2 good singles and the rest is garbage. His only quality efforts were from leaders of the new school. He's just a hype man now. I won't even get started with the rest of your choices

You murderer!

The worst one is "All Nas EXCEPT Illmatic".

i never have understood why people like illmatic so much. it was his first, but it still sucks big time-am i the only one that never plays that disk. can't even force myself to listen to the wack beats, the 2nd New York State of Mind he put out was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better.

It's real. The lyrics, beats and production are all supreme.

Andre and Big Boi together are great. Didn't like the whole idea of two separate CD's even though they were both on each CD.

You obviously haven't listened to Aquemeni or ATLiens which I put on my list. The older Outkast is supreme.
