:rolleyes: yeah like theater OMFG :rolleyes:
let me elaborate.

like ballet.

you need to be in very good physical condition and train very hard using athletics and physical activity to do well in it, but when it comes down to it the final product is that of theater.

football players and other athletes also sometimes do ballet because it makes them quick and agile and have good ballance and whatever reasons else they do it, so the ballet prepration and abilities transfer to he SPORT of football.

bodybuilding is the same in weight training preparations for the final product which is more of an art form, such as theater, but both the preparationa nd final product can also be used in the SPORT of powerlifting/strongman/olylifting

Good point my problem is when you don't call body building a sport the people that do it are not called athletes and in my book body builders are athletes.

IMO bodybuilders that do not play a sport are not "athletes" but are highly conditioned and have very high athletic potential when applied to the other sports.

i actually agree with subz, that bodybuilding is more of an artform that focuses on a finished aesthetic project displaying shape and symmetry, rather than a sport. I'd say lifting and cardio, which are usually used as tools for bodybuilding, are sports - though not particularly exciting to watch. But theoretically, couldn't one be a bodybuilder -though not a particularly good one - just by manipulating diet, hormones, and metabolism? Because of this i don't think you can call bodybuilding a sport.

...though i don't know anything about the posing aspect of bodybuilding, which i hear is maybe difficult enough to warrant it being a sport.

Have you ever tried posing at sub 5% it is very hard it is a sport and there athletes with your reasoning figure skating would not be a sport.

have you?
I am chick sub 5% is pretty hard leanest I have been is 12% and prancing around in heals doing a "relaxed" pose is hard. I have been in near tears in between rounds because I am cramping up so bad from being so dehydrated and depleted yet I still picked my self up and pranced on stage like everything was right with the world. So yeah I think I got a good idea if it is a sport or not.

Since my fuckin' thread got highjacked!!!!

This is BIG news fuggers. I was quite shocked to see ESPN covering Serra & GSP. I wonder who they will get to be the UFC analyst? Courture would be a good choice or even Bas Rutten.
