The problem is equal pay usually doesn't translate to equal work. Years back I worked at a place where the male/female ratio was about 50/50. I'd say 80% of this job centered around physical labor (lifting). Now we had items that ranged in weight from 1 or 2 pounds all the way up to 500 or 600 pounds. We all got paid the same based on our seniority. Most of the women wouldn't even attempt to lift anything over 30lbs, they'd just wait for a guy to come along and do it for them. We also dealt with transporting HR's (Human Remains). The ladies wouldn't go anywhere near those, even if it was a light weight infant. If you were working on the same side of the warehouse as a woman you'd essentially have to do your job and half of hers. I will give two women there credit, they were every bit as good at their job as any of the guys. The other 18-20 though, worthless as tits on a boarhog.
