You guys are always messed up when you bring something like this up and then ask "oooo, I guess we arent' a democracy anymore.'

1) Never were a true 'democracy', but people do rule, and the majority gets what it ultimatly votes for, in spite of the constitution.

2) Banning a substance does not make a country undemocratic. Freedom and democracy are not the same thing.

3) A majority of Americans voted for politicians whom they empowered to give the FDA the ability to ban this stuff. That's how democracies work.

4) If this actually WAS an issue on a ballot somewhere, the citizens would vote 66% at least to ban the substance. I have no doubt.

5) Too bad. Ephedra is a great product. T-rex doesn't come close.

6) Isn't there a pure herbal form that is still available? What is that called?

synpax, the herbal equivalent of ephedrine is mu huang.....although i pressume it will be banned also since it is the same thing

I think the talk I heard was that in the event ephedra would be banned, it would still be available in herbal form.

that IS what they are banning. Ephedra is the derivadive of Ma Huang root. It is compared to pharmacutical Ephedrine HCL which has long been banned.
