I've done 3-4 Centuries (100 mile bike rides) plus the MS 150 (75 miles for 2 days). Some friends of mine were the first people to ever do RAAM as a team (Mannheim Auctions). I want to do an Ironman qualifier some day but Lord, do I hate to run.

Hey DT,

I got that Tarmac! Rode it yesterday and today for the first times! Went ahead and gave up my carnac kevlars for a pair of Specialized Comp Carbons... whoa! world of difference!

I am researching doing a RAAM in the next five years... its been a dream of mine for YEARS and lately i have come to understand that nothing is impossible.... just got back in the saddle yesterday and i feel like the world is mine!

Damn. I am 6% bodyfat less than the last time i was riding seriously, and in MUCH better shape. That coupled with the upgrade from the R800 to the Tarmac Pro... DAYUM!!!

entered quite a few triatholons (finished 3rd in the Mrs. T's in chicago in the teen divison) always had endurance background (track and field) but they good for a change... check out the clydesdales events since your a big dude

I'm hell bent on doing this before I leave California. I think this would be a blast...right down the coast too.

AIDS/LifeCycle is a seven-day, 585-mile cycling event to support HIV and AIDS
services at the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the LA Gay and Lesbian

I am so bummed the straps on my Carnacs came apart, yet I still find myself wanting another pair. They have a nice roomy toebox whereas most shoes are Italian made and they tend to have narrow feet.

Yah.. i have triple E width, and carnacs were the only shoes that fit that bill... but i was VERY suprised to find that these Specialized handled the width easily, and the versions i got dont have the ratchet strap on the top, which i hate... less than 2 bills for em too: nice!

DT!

RAAM starts in two days... think we can make it?

Damn! I better order a few pizzas and carb my ass up. :)

Chef- My cousin is an ironman level triathlete at 48yo. I also know some pro and retired pro cyclists, I could probably put you in touch with one of them if you need some training help.

Cheers,
