my thigh injects have been going great. Every now and then I start burying the needle and get a HUGE twitch... it freaks me out and I instinctually pull the needle right out and reinject somewhere else...

how do you guys handle these twitches?

you are hitting a nerve it is not anything to worry you about

good luck to you

thanks Selene... ok to just reswab the needle and reinject somewhere else?

Don't worry about it unless it hurts like a mofo. No reason to take the needle out unless you aspirate and you get some blood. If you do take the needle out I would switch it with a new one before re-injecting, but thats just me.

Selene, I don't think he's hitting a nerve. I've hit one before and it's not pretty! Felt like lightning shooting through my leg and with uncontrollable reflexes.

Just to be sure, are you injecting in the right spot?

I believe so... i am going straight in off the side of the outer quad... nearly about right in the middle of the knee and the top of the leg...

is there a better spot?

but what if the twitching continues... I can't handle that... I sometimes think it is caused by focusing too much on what I am doing and actually tensing the leg muscle a bit... is that possible?

Very possible! Ur leg has to be totally relaxed. I think u just solved ur own problem!

I also would switch to new one before injecting again.

I hit a nerve every once in a while but if you stop there it hurts. Just push it past that point and it slides into more muscle.

I drive the pin in fast to avoid twitching, otherwise I would be twitching like crazy

i am learning that is the way to do it!

I have just started injectinos in my legs and I get the twitches as well..It's pretty normal....just make sure no blood and yur good....

i love quad injects, and occasionally i'll experience a twitch. usually it's accompanied by pain because i'm sure i've hit a nerve. when it happens, i pull back very slightly on the needle and just re-direct. just like a good fuck, once the tip is buried, i don't pull it out until the job is done.

hahahahah! however, this makes me worry about jabbing it in fast now. wtf?

It's from tensing the muscle. Make a big effort to relax the muscle that you're sticking and it shouldn't happen. Ensure that you're in a good, stable position prior to injecting so that you're not likely to tense the muscle.
