You're in the elevator
The doors are closing
But you see someone coming

Do you push the
<> button (open the doors)
>< button (close the doors)
or do nothing?

... er... you mean at Le Pavillion?

I try to quickly push the open but inevitably push the close by mistake. The <>>< confuses me when I'm in a hurry.

I did that to my boss at my last job.. D'oh!!

I get confused too with the buttons, so I just hold it open with my hands.

I once gt my elbow stuck in the door as it closed. It was a small office building and they did'nt open back up. I was standing with my hands behind me folded and my elbow must have been sticking out of the door slightly. The door closed from left to right and it caught me. My buddy and another girl who worked there was in the elevator with me. She could'nt hold in her laughter. I don't blame her, it was a funny sight. "Oh shit! My arm is stuck!!!" good times...

My buddy was trying to pull my arm out while I'm getting twisted around because it's behind me. Damn my tallness!

LOL!!! That's why I don't like to do the arm-thing to open the doors, I get scared it might not re-open.

At the condo I lived in last year, I was walking through the lobby, (those elevators always took forever), I saw that one was there, so I sorta scurry a few steps, but the doors were already staring to close. It was also almost full of people. So they're all facing me, I kinda dash up to it, stick out my arm... but I suddenly get nervous at the last second, I squeak "YIKES!!" and pull my arm back out as the doors close with me standing outside. lol, they must have thought I was such a tool, and then I couldn't stop laughing (by myself) in the lobby because I felt like an idiot. Stairs it is.

lol @ seashell,thats cute

as for me I always push the open button or make some visable effort, otherwise its a uncomrfortable ride if the manage to make it

When I was in Cancun with 4 of my friends, the mofo-elevator in our hotel was always a bit too eager with the door-closing. The 5 of us could NOT all get in nicely, the last person always got roughed up and crunched between the door and the wall, eventually we started fighting for position before the doors even opened, elbowing and stuff..

It was great when it happened to other people though.. LOL

Well, to avoid having your hand chopped off, you should place your arm/hand on ONE SIDE of the elevator doors. If it does'nt work, then you still have time to move your hand out of the way. If it opens... great.

What do you do, put your hand directly in the center? lol Theres a rubber type material that goes in and out on the side of the door. The doors can be 2 feet apart and you could still open them with one door if the rubber thing is depressed back into that door. Do it. Don't wait till the doors are crushing your hand! lol

Another helpful tip from Gonelifting (me).

Depends on my mood...If I'm in a good mood or it's someone I know I'll press the button to open the door for 'em... if I'm feeling blah I'll do nothing.
