:RADAR I eat 7 dozen eggs a week 1dozen a day. How many yokes can I eat a day without causeing harm to my self cholesterol wise. I have never had a problem with high cholesterol and this old school bodybuilder I used to train with used to tell me to eat the whole thing white and the yoke. I thought that the majority of the nutrients was in the yoke? I do 4 hour of cardio a week and weight train 5 days a week. If I eat alot of yokes is that a bad thing?

Dude, that cant be a good thing cholesterol wise! Go get your chol. tested...

ANIMAL FAT by the bucket... Reason why BBers eat loads of eggs is the protein, which is conveniently in the whites... the fat (and the flavor, sadly) is in the yolks... most people do 100% whites or 1 yolk every 4 whites...

I take it you don't monitor your macros, right???

I would do 2 yolks for every dozen eggs, maximum
Actually if you eat them at one sitting then only 1 yolk and 11 whites.
Dude if your eating 12 whole eggs every day,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, damned man!!!!!

On top of that if your cooking them in oil, are you? Wow

WTF is wrong with people, go check yourself into the ER immediately. ;)

I eat 3 full eggs per day, including the yokes. Is this gonna be bad for me?

I just cant stand them without the yokes!!

Paul

I will just post some numbers:

3 eggs, boiled:

Cals: 233 (so far so good)
Prot: 18gr (not bad, eh)
Carb: 1.7gr (this sounds good!!!)
Fat: 15.9 (ehhh, well, not too good)
Saturated Fat: 4.8gr (about 30% from fat content, can't be good)
Cholesterol: 636 mg (212% from RDA, DAYUMMMM)

Well, there you have it... you decide it this, EVERYDAY, it is a good idea.

I eat 14 whole eggs a week and I thought I was bad...a dozen a day? You must fart like an elephantand they must stink like dead rats!!

Check your cholesterol...

I eat 6 whites every morning, it isn't hard to take the yokes out, either do it with a spoon or just swish the egg side to side and the white will come out.

knock it out with the egg crap.............i love old school body building...but the amont of eggs you are eating is insane.....i mean good lord you must fart non stop

were can you get those at?

I buy mine from either Loblaws or Sobeys.

You should be able to find them in any major supermarket...right next to the regular egg section.

The majority of the protien and sodium are in the white. The majority of cals
and ALL the fat n chol are in the yolk. If u don't like the flavor of scrambled egg whites, mix in a little low-fat cheese and top it off w/ a little hot sauce.

One time when bulking I ate about 8 whole eggs a day for about 3 months straight. About a gallon of milk also. I never saw gains like that before and my cholesterol was fine. I didnt really gain too much fat either

How do you prepare your yokes bro?

i usually put 6 white eggs ina blender with some pretein powder, a bit of milk and that's it.
What i also do is take the white eggs, put them in a microwave and put peeper and salt and chilli poder.

I am not a very fussy guy so dnt reall care abt the taste as long as I get big and shredded.

anybody eating over 3 whole egss/day should have their cholesterol checked... even if you have no history of high cholesterol.

It never hurt anybody to be cautios, right??? and we all believe this " I am young and strong as a bull, that cholesterol shit is for old farts"...

Take care of your body, needs to last till you die.

Raw whites? Isn't is possible to get salmonella bacteria that way?

I've been doing 6 egg whites in my shake 2x a day for years now...never gotten sick friom it. I know lots of guys that do the raw whites and never been sick. Salmonella isn't nearly as common as it used to be...as strict as the FDA is now-a-days.

The only reason I wouldn't eat raw eggwhites is the fact that you don't get all of the protien compared to if they were cooked. Unless they are the prepackaged pasturized egg product.

so what makes that if cooked u get more protein than if it raw??>?

Albumen in the urine is a general sign, as studies show that a significantly higher amount of malabsorbed protein (egg) was found in the urine of healthy individuals (1). Stable isotope techniques are used to determine the digestibility of raw eggs vs. cooked eggs. In another study, using this method, it was demonstrated that the assimilation of cooked egg protein is efficient, albeit incomplete, and that the true ileal digestibility of egg protein is significantly enhanced by heat-pretreatment (2). Heat-pretreatment of course being cooked.
Not to mention you have a 1 in 30,000 chance to get salmonella from a raw egg. Also, if you blend raw eggs or whatever, you can break up the chemical bonds of amino acids where as cooking them can hook the bonds together, which inevitably is the objective.

(1) Amount and fate of egg protein escaping assimilation in the small intestine of humans.

(2) Digestibility of cooked and raw egg protein in humans as assessed by stable isotope techniques.

In other words the protein is protected by an indigestible molecule until in is denatured.

Dietary cholestrol dont mess with your blood cholestrol levels. Yolks may make you fat b/c of its fat content :). If you eat a LOT of yolks the saturated fat content may raise your cholestrol levels

Why would you get more protein from cooked eggs verses raw egg whites that does not make sense eggs have the same protein content raw or cooked does not matter.

I eat 4 dozen whole eggs per week. i have had my chlol. levels checked numerous time in the last few years...and I have never EVER had a problem... As far as fats go, according to Mr.X and several other diet guru's, you need up to 80g per day of fat. but I would assume that is NOT Sat. fats.

I work for a Landscaper, who happens to have had 23 years of post grad doctorate schooling (aka, he is a doctor that knows everything almost)--he said hi Chol. is like number ten on the list of bad shit, especially if you are eating lean and healthy as is..also, your body produces chol. that it needs, the excess is often flushed out of your system..

Remember, we're all different and different things will be different for each of us (did I use the word 'different' too many times?). Check your cholesterol and if it's fine, then I wouldn't worry too much. If you're gaining some fat, cut it back to only 3 or 4 yolks a day. A good idea is to get checked and then experiment. I eat eggs frequently, as well, but out of a dozen, only 3 or 4 yolks.....I gain fat easily.
