Egg Protein...

anyone have any thoughts on this? everytime i read an article on protein it is always refered to as the "GOLD STANDARD" or proteins, and what every other protein is measured against.... if this is true then why dont more people rave about this supp??

I would go with whey protein..isolates the best but you dont even need that. You also wanna be mixing it up and getting in some egg and casein protein but dont base your diet around it.

egg protein was considered the "gold standard" before whey's potential was realized as a fast-absorbing protein. now i only use egg when mixed in a blend for a timed-release effect

thats what i was thinking...........

i 'think' (this is what i;'d assume they meant by gold standard)

its considered the gold standard for the following reasons.....egg protein contains albumin, and albumin is considered a perfect protein in that it contains all the amino acids needed for growth in the exact proportions needed for growth. so its got what you need in the right quantities.....and is considered a perfect protein. only one other protein falls under the same 'perfectness' that i know ofand that is caesin (milk protein)

so caesin (milk) and albumin (egg) are what other proteins are compared against, i guess that could make em a gold standard as proteins go.....in terms of qualityof protein

whey protein doesnt contain the good proportions of proten that milk or egg do, it actually contains a lot of branch chain amino acids that can be converted into use for energy.....but its absorbed quickly and makes it useful for post workout shakes. so whey is a lesser quality of protein, but that doesnt take into account its suityability as fast digesting etc, which makes it good

i hope what i said was correct :)

Six dozen eggs a week hasn't done me any harm. It's one of those things that's cheap, rich in protein, and tastes different than the rest of my meals.

It's the gold standard for me. :D

egg protein is very good. it is high in sulfur based amino acids. trust me, incorporate eggs in your diet. i used to eat 6 eggs a day, until i moved to a dorm and became poor. now i only eat2-4 and lots of tuna

Damn bro, you must be REALLY poor!
Eggs in my neck of the woods only run like 70 cents per dozen.
I eat three a day, and they make up 35% of my Protein Factory custom blend.

yeah, i am. right now my car is in the shop so i cant drive to the store. also, they dont let us cook shit in the dorm which pisses me off since i like to cook:kaioken: :redhot:
