I think that for strength events endo-mesos do have the upper hand, but for bodybuilding ecto-mesos have distinct advantages:
Naturally leaner - don't get so fat in offseason and don't lose as much muscle when burning fat off pre-contest.
Smaller, slight frames look great when you add muscle thus compare Dexter Jackson's placings to Markus Rhul's.
Ectomorphs are late developers and will get their natural hormones coming for later in their 20's than endos. This allows ectos to benefit from them when they are training with skill and experience, not when they are 18 years old learning the moves.
Ecto's have fastest metabolism which means that they are able to digest and use food the fatest which means a quicker turn-around time for repair and growth. If you are not eating and training and resting right then this is a dis-advantage.
