I had rolled for about 2 years on and off on weekends. And now I am screwed up from it. Anxiety, depression, memory, loss of motivation, and just hate life sometimes. So my doc put me on effexor xr. While I do feel better do you know of anyway that I can find out how much I have damaged my brain. Because I know I have damaged it. Is there a test or something that can be run. I don't want to be on anti- depressants for ever, but I probably will be. If I don't kill myself first. I need to know what type of damage i have done and what i can do to get some of it back. My doc just gave me a script and told me to stop doing E. Which I did stop back in May, but it seems that as time goes on I just feel worse and worse. Please help, jay

I just copied this post, because this is the same exact way that i did E. And i feel exactly the same way.

I used ecstasy not even 50 times in my life over 2.5 year period. I never took more than 2 pills in a night. I never rolled more than once a week.

I did however have severe memory loss and ended up suffering from crippling panic attacks, overall anxiety problems, a sleeping disorder and severe mood swings from what was originally a mild case of bipolar to what is now a case of bipolar that has left me a very dysfunctional person. I couldn't even make it through a few minutes of conversation without forgetting what I was talking about at some point by the time I quit using it.

You can potentially get plenty of damage just by using ecstasy in a very typical fasion. I do believe that some of the problems were compounded simply by the lack of sleep and throwing off my circadium rhythm, but if I hadn't taken ecstasy, I wouldn't have had any lack of sleep or a screwed up circadium rhythm to begin with.

I wish I could help, I am suffering from alot of the same problems you are. And I don't have any answers. Exstacy is so new that not a lot is known about the long term affects of usage. I guess we and a few 100,000 others are going to be lab rats doctors try to figure this out on!

But I am pretty certain my memory is screwed.

It was developed in 1940 something but that was pure MDMA, if in fact you were taking this you would not have all the problems you are, but you take a pill that is a virtual cocktail of alot of scary shit really makes your brain spark indifferently. I have a friend like you guys, I told him I told you so!!! He didnt beleive me like you probably didnt beleive anyone. I can tell you that if you are on effixir and it is working, you will most likely have to continue taking it and hope that you do not have to upgrade to another or maybe 2 of the same drugs at the same time to achieve this stable state of mind.

Ok..you just scared me into not wigging anymore...well, maybe every few months..:)
I would assume the damage be irreversible...I always hear of memory loss. :(
Maybe siciliano is right and all your pills weren't pure mdma...
someone I know has an ez test extreme testing kit and before he buys them from his supplier, he tests them to make sure they are pure.
I hope the medication works... :)

Sorry to hear this stuff, but there is about 1,000,000 othersat least that must be going through this...doesn't make it any better I know. I was into E pretty heavy for about two years. I stopped about a year ago, cause it was gettin to rough on my body. I still get the severe ups and downs....All I can say is put yourself in a situation that you are happy, it's really the only trhing that worked for me. It got better for me after a while...other than that I don't really know what to tell you. Good Luck Bro. :fro:

Ok first off i went a 4 month period of doing it all the time and i never really felt any reprocussions. My sister on the other hand had mood swings, a sleeping disorder and became a manic depressive. She's gone to see about a dozen psychologists and still she's not the same person and this was about 3 years ago.

The stuff is a killer and a waste of time. Trust me when i say that 99% of the pills circulating are not pure mdma. They mix all kinds of garbage in there like toilet cleaners...etc....Pills made of pure mdma would cost you alot of money my friends...good luck.

Bro, quantifying the extent of the damage you think you've done to your brain, won't do a thing for you. You need to concentrate on getting healthy again. Fixating on how bad you are will definitely hamper your recovery. I, for one, don't believe you are permanently damaged. If you give your body the time and environent to heal, it will do a damn good job of it. I've had a serious back condidtion and paralysis that I thought my life was over from and now I am 100% with NO paralysis. I suggest you talk to the guys over at CERI, or Cognitive Enhancement Research Institute. They can help you find the best products for a healthy brain. Some that I know of are:

Hydergine
Vinpocetine
Piracetum
PhosphatidylCholine
DMAE

but there are many others. I gaurantee you that, given the chance, you'll come back to your (100%) satisfaction. Bro, I hate to tell you this but your talk of suicide may be from your anti-depressants. You have to get tough and get off of that shit NOW. There's other things out there for a natural approach to anti-depressants. Look into:

L-Theinine
SAMe (or TMG)

and others but I can't think right now. Bro, get tough and hang in there. Stop concentrating on how bad you are and start working towards your 100% recovery. All the best!

5 HTP and St. Johns wort will also help. Good luck bro.

How about a neuro specialist

Aren't there doctors who can help me recover from this? There must be some doctors who are helping people who are suffering from post ecstacy health problems.
