ECA with a heart murmur...

Would be great if anyone had experience with this. I've been looking into an EC stack for a bit am in search of more concrete information on the increased risks for those with heart murmurs other than that they exist.

I've had this heart murmur since I was born. I've always been told it was very minor but it's always been something the doc checked during regular visits. I've heard of many people (including athletes) that it never slowed down, people have taken advanced cycles of steroids etc. with no trouble so it would seem a little ec shouldn't hurt anything.

I would reduce the dosage of the e at least but unsure by how much would be wise? (like by half or just a few mg's less per dosing?)

Sorry I would have to look into that. It's always been referred to as a "heart murmur" to me if there was a more specific medical term it must not have been emphasized or as easy to remember.

Are there a few case scenarios you are familiar with? there may be others looking into the same information with different cardiomyopathies.

I've never been given any restrictions but am unsure about the specific grade (As you can tell I'm in a sort of 'research' stage currently. I am probably due for a check up soon and I can ask about specifics then.) This is horribly vague, but in layman's terms I remember being told a valve didn't close all the way and that gave the sound heard with the stethoscope.

I haven't had enough sleep to think clearly, it may be safe it may not be. he extra caffeine and aspirin may pose a problem as well.

I would ask your doctor if there are any adverse drug reaction, and refer to a drug that has similar effects as ephedrine but is legal, OR just be honest with him if possible.

It is all going to be related to how much blood pressure changes, what sort of affect that will have on the heart valve and chambers.

There are some drugs that induce heart murmurs, and they are some that are counter indicated with murmurs, but I haven't found anything specific.

Really, some of this is academic, as you do have a heart condition, even if minor, wouldn't it just be best to tweak your diet?

It could be a silver lining, you would learn more about a healthy lifestyle rather than using drugs.

Thank you for your kind advice, Tatyana.

I agree that with any drug there are risks and it's not my intention to pop pills in replacement of standard procedure (proper diet and healthy lifestyle), rather, supplementation.

I do not wish to burden you with diagnosing anything just trying to gather information about proper safety. I am still hoping I can catch someone on these boards that may have once been in a similar situation or that has experience with different dosages.

As Tatyana has mentioned, there are many different types of "murmurs." Most are valvular disorders, but even that doesn't narrow it down. It sounds by your valve not closing properly that you have regurgitation. However, this could be aortic regurgitation, tricuspid regurgitation, or mitral regurgitation. They have very unique problems associated with them.

At any rate, the best person to ask this advice is your personal physician. He or she knows you best, and will be able to tell you if ECA is safe for you.
