ECA cancels out Creatine?

"Creatine monohydrate is one of the few supplements supported by scientific evidence. Creatine monohydrate can increase strength, power, and muscular size (Stout, Eckerson, Housh, & Ebersole, 1999; Kirksey, et. al., 1999). Caffeine has been shown to counteract the ergogenic effects of creatine monohydrate (Vandenberghe, et. al., 1996). Carbohydrates (30-35 gm) ingested during creatine monohydrate have been shown to augment the these ergogenic effects (Stout, Eckerson, Housh, & Ebersole, 1999)."

Does this mean my ECA stack is canceling out the effects of my creatine?

pretty much, since when using Creatine you will need more water in your system to provide for energy usage. Plus why people get so big on creatine is that it increases the amount of fluid between the cell and in the cells, this crerate a more beneficial leverage scheme to lift with;hence heavier weights. Using caffeine makes you creat aquaporins and piss more of the fluid in your body out. So basically you are doing the exact opposite of what you goal is. Oh btw eating carbs is beneficial since creatine helps carb ingestion

Just a minor ammendment :)

Caffeine does not cause your body to create aquaporins. The aquaporins already exist. Caffeine acts as a diuretic because it inhibits ADH and hence more water is reabsorbed through the renal tubule.

Also, I have never encountered the idea of water being required for energy usage. Sounds interesting.....hows that work??

Imnotdutch water is use in the body as a buffering agent. although not used as an energy source it influences the movement in and out of the of particles and water. Having too little will cause major pH imbalances. (this time is still very early since I just get done at work 7am)

Ok I see what you meant.....I never thought of it like that.
