basically this is what originally happened


Sold an in dash screen on ebay

guy who bought it said it was broken and wanted a refund

sends it back to me and it is not the one i sent him, and it was broken

So i tell him to fuck off b/c its not the one i sent him

He is threatening to call the police where i am and make a complaint... Should i just send the damaged unit back to him?

any luck finding the serial number for the one you originally had? check the store where you bought it too. even w/o a serial number if you had one installed before the mfg date of the one you have, etc. you could prove it wasn't yours.

tell him you'll call the police where he lives and file a fraud complaint, and sue his ass to boot.

Yeah the serial #s arent the same

According to ebay if he send me something other that what i sent him that constitutes as mail fraud, so i threatened him with that.

I know i have more money than he does, so i could sue him and he couldnt fo anything... But it takes way too much time to do that, and i just want to get it settled. I don't need some detective hassling me because he filed a bullshit charge against me. I think i should just send it back to him and forget about it... But if i send it back to him, i lose my evidence. I dont know what to do

if you have proof that it isn't your serial number, thank him for the present, and be done with it. he tried to defraud you and got busted. he will lose big time if he tries to push it.

if he does call anyone, their investigation won't take more than 2 minutes with the proof. if he does do that, then I'd file a mail fraud complaint with the p.o. and make sure the police file a report so you'll have a record of them showing up and that the device you have isn't the one you purchased.

well, in that case... I wouldn't tell him that. Just say you have proof, if it came down to it you could get something from the mfg.

I'd tell him you know it's not yours, have proof, but will send his screen back to him if he sends you p&h fees; if not, you're just going to consider it a gift and sell it on ebay, AS IS

I would hope the cops have something better to do than worry about a few hundred dollar in dash video screen. If the guy knows hes being a punk on purpose he will eventually give up. Either that or just go to his house and kick his ass.

yeah this fuck was arguing and leaving me nasty messages about how hes gonna come find me... Then i told him i knew he was trying to bullshit me. Then he stood down and said well just send the screen back to me. And i havent sent it back, and i hadnt heard from him in 2 weeks then he emails me again and says he wants it back. So thats were i am right now... Fuck him, if someone with authority tells me i need to give it back to him then i will give it back to him
