Eating Oats Raw

Ive heard from a few guys on here that they eat oats like cerial for breakfast.
Just wondering, how much should I use.
This morning I had 1 cup and a bit of 1% milk with it.
More or less anyone?

I don't know about a few people, but I know I have posted about it. I love it for the simple fact that you don't feel as bloated. Use whatever you like. I normally do 1C. This winter when I bulk I will do 2C. Its mostly a volume issue within the stomach. You fit the same nutritional value into the stomach, but 1C raw takes up less room

I would weigh it at least a few times in the cup you are using so you know what is in it.

The weight of different oats will vary as well.

Oats 100 g

359 kcals
11 g protein
60.4 g carbs
8.2 g fat

I always eat my oats raw. 1 cup. Somtimes I'll blend them with 2 cups of milk and a scoop of chocolate milk podwer. Tastes like oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.

yeah can we clarify what raw means... when i see raw i think... oh hey oats in the can.. lets just take a handful and eat it.. cause if thats the case my respect for you all just shot up

I think was rob is getting at is what I recommended. If you take 1C of oats and 1C of water/milk and then cook it it becomes, volume wise, about 1.5 to 2C of oatmeal. Its heavier on the stomach, and to me, I feel very full and bloated.

I have started taking 1C oats and 1C milk, 1 splenda, add milk to oats, and eat, don't cook it. I don't feel as full or bloated and actually have room for more oats if I wanted. There have been times, and will be this winter, where I take 2C oats and 2C milk (or however much it takes to cover the oats, could be less) and eat it, uncooked. You are getting all the nutritional value of 2C of oatmeal, but volume wise its much tougher to stomach that much oatmeal when its cooked. 2C of uncooked oats when cooked would probably be 3.5 to 4C in volume

Is this making sense?

I pour boiling water over my oats, so it isn't really cooking them either.

It does depend on how thick the oats are, some are very flaky and would just absorb the water.

wont the oats absorb the water eventually whether it be before you eat them or after? if thats the case if u could down more oats right of the bat, 30min later might u not feel the expansion going on? or do you feel normal still?
