EAS hockey for PS2

Anyone play NHL 2002 for PS2? I'm a huge fan of the EA Sports hockey games. I've owned them from 98-2001 for PC.

I have. Its kinda quirky and fast compared to the past ones in my opinion. Its real arcade like, and i must stress fast. Thats the one thing i remember. I played it around christmas, so its been awhile. The announcers are absolutely a.w.o.l. too. Pretty funny though. It wasn't what i was expecting but it was pretty good. I like the 2k hockey better, but i just played it on dreamcast. Dont know if they are or already have made them for ps2.

i have it... i havent been playing it lately, but its an awesome game... you get pretty decent stats too... well, at least goals are realistic in season mode... assists are low.

I still play NHL95 for the genesis its that good. But I bought 2001 for the PS2 and I was really disappointed. What I couldnt stand was the momentum meter. What the hell were they thinking? Totally ruined the game and there was no way to turn it off.

Id actually play hitz over a "simulation" game anyday.

Yah i didn't like the meter either. I rented HITZ this weekend, it's ok for this type of game.

yea i actually ended my game less than a minute ago, and came here. I play it on computer, but i love it! awesome game for sure. I think im gonna get a PS2 soon.. probably gonna get MGS2, GT3, GTA3, and i dunno what else

Does the 2002 version have the momentom meter?

NHL 2002 is the shit on PS2. The fights still fucking suck. I like the old school genesis style fights. You could move your guy back and forth and have a good minute long fight. You could win a donnybrook on skill back then. Now it's just button tapping and mostly based on the stats. I want the blood back too.
