I set up a small 'gym' at home and am going to start working out in the morning before work. This is great! I love leaving work when it's dark & cold outside and realizing that I don't have to drive the extra 15 minutes to the gym. Plus I don't have to deal with the PM crowd at the gyms anymore. I rock.:)

Being one of five people in the gym at 6am. Priceless :)

its like having private use of like 20 grand in equiptment
 
Yeah, that would be nice too. I wish I could do that, but I'd have to drive 15 minutes to and 15 minutes back each morning.

I'll probably go to the gym some on weekends too. -i must look at all the cardio bunnies!:)

Why can't you shower and dress for work at the gym?

That's what my wife and I do. We usually get there around 6:00 or 6:15. But we only have to do that twice a week, cause we have a Tues, Thurs, Sat, Sun split :). Nothing like free time in the evening!
 
It is definitely great isn't it? It is a great way to start off the day, it will free up you nights and gym is nearly empty that time. The only problem I have is that I have gotten into such a groove of going in the morning that when I can't make it that early (i.e. the last 2 weeks b/c of all end of term projects to finish), I have a hard time going in the afternoon or at night. It is a major difference.

Work is the total opposite direction from my house than the gym. Plus the whole eating a quality breakfast at the house is ideal.
Plus I can work out while naked.

I was just joking about that last part.

There is not a better feeling. Start the day off with a great workout, the best part is you can enjoy the rest of the day knowing your training is out of the day. Also I find I stick to the diet much better when I workout in the mornings.. But 4:30 am sure does come quick..
 
I tried this for a month and I HATED it. I had ZERO energy and every lift I did was far weaker than when I'd do them in the afternoon.

Do you notice a strength difference from mornings and afternoons and evenings? I'm sure everyone is different but for me I just couldn't keep up with the early AM workouts.

Im at the gym by 5, seems like everyone else has the same idea :/ There are almost as much people at 5, as there is at 5 in the afternoon, but its still not that bad. I still love going in the mornings, and i like have people around me anyway.

I feel "off" when I workout in the afternoons. I am so used to working out in the morning that I have more focus to get the job done at 6am
 
From what I hear, mornings are when hormones are flowing the most, which is a good thing for AM workouts....

As for me, aint no way my lazy fuckin ass is gettin outta bed that early :)

yea..i'm a early bird myself..gotta get myself back into doin it though!! but its nice to hit that shit before the day starts...kinda like havin your coffee!! tb
