dying leather shoes

first you've got to break down the dye that's on there. lemme see if i can remember all this....

saddle soap. fine grit sandpaper. water. wear it down a bit.

leather dye. many applications.

shine them with the same color you dyed with. it's going to be easier to do this with black than any other color. i've seen a pair of white doc martens that were dyed black and they came out pretty decent. the girl that did it didn't break down the white dye first though, so after a while it started to wear off. she wore them everywhere though, they got wet, etc. still, it wasn't hard to redo it and make them black again.

while I'm at it, I'll also post a pic of the shirt I was wearing when I fucked up my knee back in October. This happened at a small bar in O.C. during a show by The Dwarves (punk band). Check out the foot prints on the back, I got tossed up in that pit. This is after dry cleaning too, that shit didn't come off, LOL

Those shoes look pink - pretty tight though. I definately couldn't wear them.

don't know about "ox blood" but they tons of 8 or 10 hole docs in black, red, green, blue, purple, white and all sorts of the shoes that were in back then. I used to shop there when I was in high school, I happened to stop by a few weeks ago to check it out and they still have most of the same stuff, LOL

I'll probably go back and pick up some chippewa boots, those bitches are $189 though, but they look tough
