Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition: Teaser

that is totally awesome!!
I started playing AD&D 2nd edition in 1990
played that shit up for like the 15 years. I always said they should digitize it. I just hope they dont dumb down the rules

The rules are still going to be the same 3.5 version. ummm, so i've been told..not like I would know what that means or anything....

I don't think we ever had a cleric. We usually had too many thieves and fighters, with a wizard or two for good measure. What fun is being a freakin medic?

I ran several campaigns in 2nd Ed. I got out of it before 3rd and 3.5 rolled around.
I ran some great Dark Sun and FR campaigns that reached pretty high levels(1st all the way to 16-20th)
My best campaign ever though was Ravenloft. About 5 years straight 2 weekends a month. My players were the best serious gamers/rollplayers I think I have ever seen.
I actually had a nuetral Evil cleric of Velsharon in my FR campaign(the entire campaign was of "evil" alignment, we had fun with that.)
I wa always pissed off @ DM's who would disallow evil characters in their party. I always felt if the player could conduct themselves accordingly and not just be stupid evil( aka. while everyones sleeping I go outside and rape and kill random people cause I'm evil.") and actually had goals and amibition it always made for a fantastic RPG experience.

and yes, he eventually had a Zombie army. :coffee:

I always thought the clerics did the best because everyone loved them and wanted to protect them. If they were smart they got first pick of the treasures for saving the warriors asses all the time. lol

Ravenloft was my favorite module back in the day followed by Temple of Elemental Evil and the classic Keep on the Borderlands. It was also my favorite campaign setting, I liked the gothic horror feel.

lol. I was actually looking @ my temple of elemental evil module like 2 days ago. I have so many 1st and snd edition books it is stupid
who else do you know that has 5 Unearthed Arcanas?


btw..no one ever had the balls to run an evil character in my RL campaign.

I have the TOEE computer game for my PC. It's turn based and a good representation of the rules.

In HS I made my gf be the cleric...she didn't mind. She would usually read a magazine until it was time to roll some dice.

I have a full set of the 3rd edition magic cards for MTG. I haven't played in years. We used to play MTG when I was in the Army, card games are very popular in the field. If I never play another hand of Spades or Euchre it will be too soon.

I played up until Revised came out along with a few of the after sets
I was actually really upset when Unlimited came out because they wouldnt allow all my black bordered Alpha and Beta Cards in tournaments anymore.

I started with the Basic D&D when I was about ten. I was playing Advanced 1st edition in Jr high...:nerd:

that video was wrong. everyone knows that after you kill a troll you have to finish them off with a fire or acid weapon or they come back to life. you also need a magic weapon like +1 to harm them in the first place, but their weapons werent even glowing so you know that shit was normal. normal items!

I was just going to say last time I played ad&d was after the 2nd edition books.if they can make the pg games even half as good as the books its going to be bad ass.

I always liked being a bard and fuck any one that dont like them..they could cast spells fight steal almost any thing they were just fun to play.

I usually played a wizard. It sucked being a bitch at lower levels but laying a fireball smack down was the literal bomb.

The only one I've played is Temple of Elemental Evil....good game.

Easier to find a pick up game and players are everywhere. Joining a strange D&D group can be weird.
 
i find the warhammer crowd to be alot stranger than the d&d crowd. the d&d crowd is like a phase we all go thru in hs or college whereas wh is like a way of life, i swear.
 
To me WH 4K is way better than any kind of D&D. But I'm into the strategy war game type shit. It is more of a time money investment to get started though.
JG is right, it is very easy to get a game going with WH. I moved to Albuquerque, I didn't know anyone. I showed up at the local game shop, and met a pretty cool bunch of doods. We got together every weekend for battles, beer, junk food and gey sex, it was great.

I played all of them as well except neverwinter nights..
my wife and I went nuts together on dark alliance for the xbox.I made her be my little bitch clerk well I went around killing every thing.

those games were amazing, no? whats ur favorite? mine was icewind dale. even tho it was the least favorite amongst them by most ppl, i liked it because it was so plain and because you can name your party members. nothing cooler to watch than your nerdy best friend charging into a group of yuan ti with a broadsword to save the party.

I play a Vampire Count/ Ogre army
I have been collecting and painting some Tomb Kings as well.

I used to play a full Undead army back before they split the Undead up and dropped Nagash and Arkhan the black out of the game. :(
Chaos is fun too, Khorne army?

The downed thunderhawk came with the starter set with the new rules. Actually, I like the latest edition better than the last one.

In fantasy i have a huge DoW army and Daemonic legion as well as oodles of undead.

I sold my 40k chaos army, but I saved a few figs. I loved that army, it was my best. All nurgle, LOTS of conversions. When I got divorced I sold everything I could, needed the $$.

It probably doesn't hurt that I'm an artist. So I know my way around a paint brush. I've painted a bunch of peoples army for trade as well. I wish I had a pic of my nurgle predator conversion. And my nurgle dred was pretty kick ass too.

Well, it shows in your work....definitely an artist. I have a basic understanding of shading and that's about it.....not an artistic bone in my body.

No, but I may take some. All my figgies are in boxes in the closet though. I haven't played in like 8 years.
I wouldn't mind showing off my 40k orks or some of my epic. I really dig my orks, they have some good character.

They seem to be the most popular army among the creative types because they offer so many conversion options. I converted a number of battlewagons from WWII tank kits.

Right on. I just did the plane jane type battle wagons. I had the old plastic kind. They were some of my first 40k vehicles I put together, so I wasn't real adventurous at that point. I made a pretty crazy ork drednought though. I think it was out of some star wars model.
 
I was trying to ask if anyone knows if the new 4th Ed D&D is online like world of warcraft interactive?
