dumb steak question

i bought some top round steak today at a local supermarket in NYC and on the package it says 0.565lbs 0.575lbs and 0.580lb it doesn't say the type of cut SELECT or CHOICE or anything and i was wondering what those numbers translate to in OZs and also the p/c/f/cals

when goin to fitday and for serving i type 0.565lbs ?

Cant really help ya out too much with the cut of the steak, but top round is usually pretty good (as you probably know) so i would just trim it before its cooked and look it up as extra lean steak. As for the ounces...just estimate as best you can, since its about half about..convert it to ounces and then ya go..best i can help

crap 70protein whoa.......how would i make it about 4oz or 6oz since i dont have a scale? any method i can use?

DDD also whould the fat be pretty high? on that than?

quickie math lesson

package weight (16) = serving size in oz.
*there are 16 oz. in a pound that's why times 16

.565 (16) = 9.04 oz

.580 (16) = 9.28 oz

kel :)

Beef, round, top round, separable lean only, trimmed to 1/4" fat, choice, raw

9 oz. ==> 337 kcal

p/ c/ f : 58/ 0/ 10

:)

KEL your so smart but on the steak it dont say 1/4 trimmed or CHOICE,its the supermarket cuts also whats the best way to make it into 4oz since i dont have a scale? cut in the middle:P :P

the "1/4 (inch) trimmed" means how much fat on the outer edge of the meat.
So 1/4 inch showing.

I would cook all of it at one time and cut the cooked portion in half - I'm lazy.

Or yes you can cut in half while it's raw.

kel :)
