circuit machines suck, really. stick to db's and free weights. To many ways to cheat on pully's

My trainer made sure my form was perfect. She's a sadistic gym-Nazi that way.

Re: swithcing to free weights, that's what my trainer says. She's gonna start moving me into the free weight room next thursday. I'm sure I'll get my ass royally kicked.

honestly, not sure what machine you are using but i would be majorly impressed if my client did that kind of weight, even if it wasn't free weights.

my trainer is kind of...I dunno. She trains the soldiers down at Fort Lewis on the weekends, so her only goal is to make me awesome, not to stroke my ego. But I need that kind of discipline. She's cool, she just doesnt give praise alot.

She reminds me of that dude on Kill Bill that was training Uma to put a fist through a board.

well, imo.... from a trainers pt of view that is a shitty way to be. You need the good, the motivation the pushing all at the same time


If my clients hit a good weight i let them know, and then push them harder next go round. They have a 5lb increase i praise them for that... why? well, because everyone wants to know that they are doing good, making improvements. If you give postive you recieve positive, I do this daily with them, no matter what the increase of the weights. To see the excitement in their face that they did something they have never done before is great.

I do push them, don't get me wrong... but the praise comes along with the discipline.

I love helping, and i don't even charge for my help. You'd be amazed at the motivation i get from a newbee.. seriously. My girl now that is doing so good... when she hits a weight and pushes her self, and there i am telling her to hit 2 more .. and then 2 more and she does it, my next set is great! No matter the skill or the experience, its the heart and the drive and it glows. I thrive off of it.

so come on down to LA ;)
