Drivers Liscense Suspended

Zerxes

New member
Is there anyway(or anyone who has done this) to get a Lawyer and get the DMV to allow a fine to be payed, so that a liscense suspension could be lifted?? Mine is suspended until December 2003, but my plates don't expire until February of 2003. After that I still have to drive, and basically I will just keep getting pulled over for no plates, and then subsequently for "driving w/o a liscense", and then it will get suspended for another friggin year. So again, has anyone taken this type of suspension to traffic court(or whatever court) and had the suspension shortened, or lifted in place of a fine? Thanks for any advice, or shared experiences.

I doubt you'll find anyone here familiar with the laws in Persia.

Very clever.
But it might interest you to know that you are thinking "Xerxes" with an X, not a Z. Haha.

Persia no longer exists goofus. I obviously threw that in for shits & giggles. Im in the U.S.

I had my license suspended, tried to appeal , but some DMV big wigs told me not to even bother, cause they won't even think about it until you have served at least half your sentence. keep in mind that was in Mass. though, a bullshit prison of a state. no booze on sundays.

You can get a restricted license with no lawyer at all.......how's your driving record?

I dunno what is considered good or bad bro. I have have had a TON of non-moving violations(like no inspection sticker, or plates), but never any speeding tickets, or DUIs. No wrecks either.

Don't they have ways to shave off points via defensive driving courses or something like that? In indiana, you can cut 4 pts off with a defensive driving course.

Look up your states driving laws (it isn't hard if you use google), there may be ways to reinstate your license.

OF Course this has never happened to me.....

But I heard that you can apply for an occupational license that will allow you to drive 10 pre-selected hours a day...

This type of license costs @ $60....after 6 months you will be able to get your "regular license" back...for and additional $50....

Here in the great state of Wisconsin
The fines for driving with a suspended license go from $163.00- 1st offense to $701.00 for your second offense, so it is well worth the bother...

Good Luck to you, Sunshine!!

Maybe I am not reading your post right, but why couldn't you renew your plates, regardless of your current license situation?

Here in VA, you can get a suspended license for too many tickets, dui, etc. You can usually ask the judge for restricted license for to/from work. Then you have a window of time to drive. If you are caught outside the window of time, chances are you are going to jail when they stop you, car impounded till trial, storage costs.

Saw one 20 something hispanic guy in court , speaking barely english get nailed for suspended license for 1 dui charge. Got caught driving again and dui. Judge asked if he wanted a lawyer thru an interperter he said no. Judge advised him you can do some jail time if found guilty. So he was found guily by the judge of dui for 2nd time, driving suspended license, violating previous sentence and to serve 180 days in jail. YEP, about 6 months sentence and car left impounded. So $20/day for 6 months. EXPENSIVE plus court costs, fines. Cuffed and stuffed the guy right there in court and he was crying .

Next hispanic guy comes up, same thing 2nd dui, suspended license. After seeing what happened, He was si senor, i want lawyer. :mix:
