Drinking while doing PCT?

Djicy

New member
Will this hinder any gains I just made? I'm taking Nolva planned on drinking 4-6 beers next weekend.

Also how bad is it to drink about 4-6 beers while on a cycle? I know there where a few threads about this before, will it kill a lot of your gains or just kill your liver?

You're bound to get varying opinions on this one....but just drink and enjoy. As long as you don't make a habit out of it and don't drink 4-6 beers every night....you will be fine. The liver will not be harmed by a few drinks.

As you've heard that alcohol reduces your test levels, so if you're trying to bring them up with PCT while they are still low, you're gonna hinder that with alcohol. I wouldnt do it but it's your choice.

I just quit drinking. ;) Feels good.

That was another concern my test levels, I really don't think I need to drink so I'll probably just lay off of it.

actually, you shouldnt drink alcohol or take things like tylenol or eat grapefruit as these things affect the cytochrome P450 system in the liver which metabolizes many different things in the body including estrogens. this will cause an increase in the estrogens in your body. you dont want this during PCT....but who actually knows how much of each substance it takes for each individual for this enzyme system to be affected? personally i dont think a few beers on occasion will hurt, but if you drink many times during the week while on/PCT, then i would worry more...but grapfruits will inhibit the cyt P450 system pretty significantly with just one consumed. also, do not take cimetidine (tagamet) while on b/c this inhibits cyt P450 as well...

sounds good I plan on just one night of drinking and thats it so I don't think it will hurt. I planned on not drinking at all but special occasion came up.

4 - 6 pints? American or Canadian beer? ;)

I wouldn't worry about it...

went to funeral today for my soldier buddy that was killed in iraq. so we all got together last night and got WASTED. i was fucking annihilated when i got home this morning (he would have wanted it that way).. had the worst fucking hangover in the world at the funeral. god it hurt. i'm done drinking. but i doubt i did any real damage, one night is not gonna make that big a difference. just dont drink regularly.

Agreed, I think the worst part about drinking is the empty calories, so as long as you stick to low carb beers its not going to ruin you. As long as you can still get up the next day and work out that is.

Why do people spend their hard earned money on gear and put in all the hard work in the gym and with their diet and mess with alcohol or drugs. Just doesn't make sense to me. Even if it is just every now and again, but whatever floats their boat. Not bashing anyone for doing just stating my stance on the subject. It's just counter productive.

thats why I was asking i don't want my hard work and hard earned money to just disapear for nothing

Your liver has very large capacity. You have more liver than you need to survive. That's why people can donate part of their liver (to their children if they have congenital liver problems). The same goes for kidneys (people in very poor countries sell one kidney). People live normal live after one lung is removed (for cancer).

Unless you drink 4-6 beers daily for several months, you will not have liver problem.
Effect on testosterone level is miniscule.
Several studies have shown that having 2 drinks a day is better than not drinking at all (it increases HDL level). Red wine may be slightly better than other alcohols; it may have anti-oxidants.
You have to watch the calories in the alcohol.

EVERYTHING IN MODERATION. BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE OBSESSIVE ABOUT ALCOHOL.

Well so is not finishing your plate, and wasting .50 worth of food... I think the fact that it happens every now and again is what makes it marginal at best... if you drank all the time, then I could see it as being counter productive to the degree that I'd worry about it...

They both suck! Europe has the best beers. I quit drinking anyway 6 months ago so it doesnt matter any more :)

Well ya.. if it's belgium, then you have a point... :D

Two drinks is about one ounce of absolute alcohol.
In USA, 2 drinks would be:
2 (one ounce) shots of hard liquor (about 40% alcohol).
2 (4 ounce) glasses of wine (about 12% alcohol).
2 (12 ounce) cans of beer (about 4.5% alcohol).

You have to adjust it if there is higher percentage of alcohol.

For rest of the world that is sensible enough to follow the metric system:
One ounce is about 28 cc/ml.
