Drinking problems

In the UK alcohol is the cause of most of our public order problems of a weekend. I also have a friend working in police and she tells me most officers will have a drink or few after work to wind down. What can be done?

I'm thinking maybe there's some much healthier supplements they could take to unwind - valarian root or melatonin. Does anyone have any suggestions I could go back to her with?
