Drew Gooden and Chris Wilcox

Here's a thought for you:

Drew Gooden played himself right out of the lottery Saturday night. What a sorry performance from a disgustingly overrated player. He may have to come back for his senior year to get back in teh top 10 picks. Sad.

Wilcox played himself into the Top 3. This guy has an NBA body already and athletic ability no other NCAA player can match. He's raw, but he destroys people. Unbelievable.

Gooden pissed his whole season down his leg. Quite sad indeed. If he were to stick around, they'd be solid next year. Hell, even if he does leave they'll still be a top 5 team. It'll be hinrich, miles, langford runnin the 3 guard and simeon and collison up front. Not bad at all. It was too bad to see them lose but maryland is the better team. I played high school bball with hinrich actually. He's a cool kid, i've never practiced with someone with a better work ethic.

That wilcox is an animal though. NBA body and raw talent, once he develops he'll dominate.

Dixon is a pro. The ACC is (over the last few years) the best league, and he has been outstanding in it for several years now.

He'll bea first round pick, I don't think lottery - that would really gutsy, but hey, if Speedy Claxton is in the NBA, Dixon belongs.

I'm hoping Wilcox stays for one more year, he could use the development IMO.

Funny....Dixon was voted ACC player of the year but the National Player of the year went to Duke's Jason Williams???? I am hoping Wilcox will stay but you know the dollar signs are there for him now and it will hard to turn down. I think Dixon will be very much like Jalen Rose as an NBA player. I think he will do well, he has a nice shot and works away from the ball better than anyone I have seen this year.

hinrich better stay, he was close to doing something stupid last year but luckily he stuck around and had a great season.

He could definitely use it. He is really raw. But he could step in to the league and start now.

Music to my ears... as an Alumn, Im proud of Marlyand's accomplishments.. further without big names recruits.. hopefully UM will win and Gary will get the respect he deserves..

Matt, about wilcox.. you are right on the money.. too bad you did not see wilcox destroy mike dunlevy when the dookies played at college park. At this stage in the game, if you are surprised by Wilcox, your are a fool.

some experts say Baxter will be to small at 6'8 for the pro game

I say L Baxter= Elton Brand

Well, baxter has soem conditioning issues that an 82-game season will highlight - in other words, his fat ass needs to get in shape.

He'll get picked, but he needs a lot of work. If Malik Rose can last, Baxter can too, but he needs work.

SV - Wilcox is nuts. I didn't see him against Dunleavy, but I saw him live and in person on Saturday night. Dunleavy gets a lot of hype, but let's face it, he's like the Number 3 option at Duke, so he draws the Number 3 defender. Big deal.

I haven't been impressed with Blake.

I hope to God Baxter stays at MD. I heard Gary Williams saying he would in an interview Sat. night.

Man I can't wait for IU to lose.

I just wish the kuckleheads in College Park would act like they had some sense.

I mean, BREAKING INTO COP CARS!?!? and they haven't even won the champ. yet.

Tell me about it.. I couldnot agree more! Blake has had a very sub-par tournament.. he's getting a lot of flack in the local media. I look for him to step up tonight. He still managed 11 assists against Kansas. He's a good floor general, not a big scorer, but he does have a knack for hitting clutch shots.

I can't disagree more about Blake. He has obviously been content to play a role and perhaps sacrifice his stats for the good of the team. The point is, they're winning, and Blake has been playing a lot of minutes. I'll take that.

I have been watching UM play all year, I have only missed 2 or three games the entire SEASON. Blake has been pulled out of the last two games by Gary for making bad decisions.. He has been out of sync in the NCAA's, and he better get his act together tonight as IU has very solid guard play.

That being said, I like Blake, and I still think he is one of the top 10 pure PG in the country. He just needs to find his groove again.

a) Blake had a SOLID tournament and could not have played better.

b) Dixon will go top 10 for sure.

c) Drew Gooden sucks my ass. He is going to get eaten up in the pros.
