Someone help me please.

So I have been having TERRIBLE dreams lately. Just awful. Almost every night..

1) I got in a fight and killed someone.
2) We were in a holocaust at the end of some war, my wife and I survived but went to get my daughter and she was exterminated on the last day before the war ended
3) I killed my daughters cat. Sliced its throat and burried it in the back yard. In the dream, was wondering if this was the first step of becoming a serial killer.

Have had a real shift in personal wealth recently and these have all seemed to come after this. Always so relieved when I wake and alway feel how insignificant money is.

Is this a money issue or am I becoming a pshyco freak??

These dreams are all about control. Of which you have none! I don't mean that in a derogatory way. I mean it in a life is short. Don't fool yourself into thinking that you need to control everything in your life, because you can't. What you can control is you love for your family and your daughter.

Sure you might have a few less pennies in your pocket, but you have so much as well...

I would suggest that you write on paper all thing "blessings" you do have. ie. health for you and your loved ones, roof over your head, family to love and love you back. etc.

Not at all trying to be facetious here...

just me 2 cents

Who did you kill? Random stranger? Could this person have represented a part of you?
Holocaust defines a momumentally devastating event.
War portrays an ongoing conflict
Death stands for termination; finality. May not specifically point to a physical death
Cat pertains to one's quality or type of independence
Killer warns of a fatally negative facet in one's life.
Burying stands for cover-ups;secrets;hiding something. May also indicate intentions to forget and forgive, yet nothing worth burying can really ever be fortotten; can alsomean denial.

Could it be that you and your daughter have been clashing because she wants some independance and you won't give it to her?

I'm assuming you haven't started any new medications or supplements? There are plenty of herbs or meds that have the side effect of bad dreams.

Assuming no meds, then is it normal for you to have frightening/violent dreams when you get stressed out or is this something that is EXTREMELY out of character for you? (some people don't ever have nightmares, me, for example, I have dreams that can be quite unpleasant but they never frighten me). If nightmares are rare but not extremely unusual for you then what you really need to do is allow yourself to live in that feeling of gratitude that you have when you wake up from the dream on a more day to day basis because your subconscious is trying to show you how insignificant material possessions are when looked at from the context of the "big picture" (i.e., the fear of the world ending, a true fight for survival, the fear of losing your mind and causing harm to those you love). The dreams themselves are less important than the feeling of gratitude that you have when you wake up.

If nightmares are completely, extremely unusual for you then I have another suggestion but I need to go to PM.

One of the oldest maxims of life is "know thyself." In knowing yourself, you understand yourself and it is only through this understanding can come true gnosis.

Now, there's at least two words in this post that you don't know and probably have no idea how to pronounce. Be a good little boy, expand your own highly underutilized mind before it completely atrophies, and go toddle off and find the definitions of those words, and maybe even learn how they are pronounced.

okay first things first there are way more than two words you used that I have no fucking idea what they mean or how to say them properly. Two I am totally fascinated at the amount of crazy fucking people in these threads. Three I am sexy as fuck and my awesome fucking ability and tounge action skills have gotten me through life this far. You have only been here a very, very short time and certainly don't know me well enough to know otherwise (quite a bit of a know it all never the less though, aren't we) but I can assure you, I have not even come close to attacking SB.

There is a significant difference between attacking someone, debating someone, and educating someone. I'm quite sure SB's skin is thick enough that he can take being told that if he has nothing useful to contribute then he can STFU and get out or if he insists on sticking around, at least learn something.

SB, there is a certain order to things. Your e-flirt, seems to be a bit blind with regards to some matters and simply needed clarification. In short, she needs to back up and stop thinking you need to be protected and she needs to learn when and what is appropriate to say and to whom.

But the simple fact is, after five years on this board I will not kiss your -- or anyone else's -- ass simply to make your girlfriend -- or anyone else for that matter -- happy.

Now voodoo (actually, properly called vodun), can't tell you a thing other than what you could find on the internet yourself. I passingly know some practitioners and have a few books that I intend to read eventually, but I'm not called in that way.

However, as for a voodoo doll ... believe me, I can relate bro because the same SOB or someone like him stuck a pins in my neck and right shoulder :( I'd be out of work if it weren't for Advil and my chiropractor.

* Driving an old bronco from my childhood in the mountains with some of my brothers
* drive off a cliff
* jump out and grab a tree before I hit bottom
* some native kid comes up to me and ask for money - speaking in a foreign language
* pulls a knife, I take it from him and stab him right below his collar bone
* many if his friends show up with more knifes - I am fucked - wake up

2 near death scenes - wake up sweating.

Sorry MM, I missed this the first time. No - I am not taking any supplements or chemicals in general.

I really think you are spot on - the gratitude vs material possessions is exactly what I feel when I wake up.

The mind is an amazingly complex. Why can't I just understand this stuff conciously so I can quit being scared shitless every night.

I really think you are spot on - the gratitude vs material possessions is exactly what I feel when I wake up.

The mind is an amazingly complex. Why can't I just understand this stuff conciously so I can quit being scared shitless every night.

Because you need to do something concrete, literally let go and move on.

Trust me on this, clean out your closet (or attic or basement or garage) and donate everything you can to Goodwill. Physically clean house and you will psychologically clean house.

In fact, consider getting rid of some things you might otherwise not, but you know that, in reality, you'll never use again you're just keeping them because they cost a lot of money at the time.

Look at the dream from the way I see it:

* Driving an old bronco from my childhood in the mountains with some of my brothers (represents your past, vehicles often are metaphors for our bodies, old truck + family = your life up to this point)
* drive off a cliff (loss of control)
* jump out and grab a tree before I hit bottom (you feel that you are just hanging on)
* some native kid comes up to me and ask for money - speaking in a foreign language pulls a knife, I take it from him and stab him right below his collar bone (Gotta love the subconscious, the metaphor here is about as blatant as you could get, you're subconscious is literally showing you that you're not listening to the message -- you hear it as a foreign language you can't understand -- but you know it's about money and you're lashing out at the messenger)
* many if his friends show up with more knifes - I am fucked - wake up (and if you don't listen to the message you're just going to get more of his friends -- dreams -- showing up)

Clean out your closets, Bill. Sit down, be realistic about what your finances are, take stock of what you have, what you can let go of and accept that a very important lesson is life is learning to let go of what what you want to hang onto what you NEED.

I'd still clean out a closet or two and make some donations to Goodwill, if nothing else, tax write off :D

Oh - btw - I live in a small bubble in the USA. Right now unemployment rate is less than 5% and get this - Goodwill does not accept clothing items!!! Have too much inventory they can't get rid of.

Anyone on hard times, looking for work and can handle living in the destert, need to pack up and head this way. At the very least, you will get a very nice cheap selection of clothes from goodwill.
 
FYI, this thread was much more exciting when Muscular Mommy was ripping my ass apart. I enjoy it ruff. Somebody punch me in the nuts or something.
