DR. checked my Cholesterol and said it is way to high wanted me to take Lipitor I believe I asked him if i could come back in 2mo. and recheck after I change my diet a bit he said i wont matter its genetic. what do you all think

Lipid Panel
Cholesterol 210
Triglycerides 158
HDL 40
LDL 138
VLDL 32
Chol/HDL 5.3
Non-HDL CHOL 170

So any suggestions?

Thanks

Id consider more conservative approach before starting a statin regimen. Time released niacin, policosanol, and fish oils will help..also if ur genetically predisposed than any AAS or TRT or aromatase inhibitors (minus aromasin) can greatly counter any progress made with these supps...

I started the Policosanol and fish oil been taking it for 3 weeks now and have cut the butter and cheese way down Im a butter and cheese hound
love the stuff. the time released Niacin? havent heard of that before can i pick that up and the health food store?

My Dad is 65 and his is crazy high even with meds its not good he has had two mini strokes as a result
so I figure I am going to have issues with this as well.

What would you recommend for the daily uptake on this regimen ?
Thanks for the response

The time released niacin,is often under sustain release label as well..make sure it is regular niacin though, not the flush free...the tims release helps minimize the flushing, as well as avoiding hot or spicy foods prior to intake. The niacin actually helps elevate HDL, which is still equally if not more important, oral AAS and PH are notorious for lowering these. Niacin and cardio work best for hdl elevation. Policosanol regimen of 20mg 2x/day, time-release niacin at 1000-1500mg/ day & fish oils at 1000mg 3-4x/ day are all good starters. Niacin can put lots of stress on ur liver as well, so more bloodwork done in approx 2months,should b sufficient. I would also get ur results from ur CBC & BMP before starting anything to know all ur numbers. side note: AAS do not kill people, ignorance and lack of attention to preventable disease processes( hypertension, hyperlipidemia, arteriosclerosis, etc) kill people.

Just tossing it out there, I dropped my cholesterol from 250 to 122 in 4 months by going keto. Also in my labs the upper limit is 200, 210 isn't a crazy number. A statin isn't the answer with a number that low IMO.

Here is something to consider, the base for most hormones is actually cholesterol. So, just like testosterone has a feedback loop and when its low other things increase the same goes for other hormones as well. If they are low you body generally produces more cholesterol because its the building block for hormones. That being said I bet your labs also show you have low readings on other hormones.

210? That's not that high... Tell your doctor he will have to hold off on the kickback from the pharma co. You don't need Lipitor. This idiot is behind the times as usual. Get some fish oil( BTW Levitra is fucking fish oil) take 6-8 a day. Get a new doctor.

55 and still fucking dangerous
