Down Comforter = WOW

gf has been bugging me for one of these for 3 years and i can not justify spending over $150 on a comforter.

she's been bugging her mother for 3 years as well and her mother always laughs at her.

she's bugged her grandmother and her grandmother has always said no (even though her grandmother always gets her things for xmas and gives her at least $200 cash).

last year my dad asked what she wanted and i said a down comforter. he said no way.

this year my dad asked what she wanted and i said a down comforter. he said "real down or fake down?" i told him real down and he said he'd see what he could find.

they forgot to remove one of the price tags from the package....$180!!! he said it's one of the "medium" ones...not too heavy not too light.

so we get home last night and i remove one blanket from our bed and put the down comforter on. this leaves 2 other blankets underneath of it. our bedroom stays reasonably warm (house is set at 68 degrees) and 3 blankets on the bed has been very cozy.

i woke up probably a dozen times last night....half of those times to pull the blankets off of me because i was drenched in sweat, the other half to pull the blankets back over me because i was cold again.

the conclusion - the down comforter :garza: :garza: :garza:

yeah i got the light since im in florida or id never be able to sleep from the heat, you have to spend some money to get a decent one, the cheap ones are crap and uncomfortable

my dad said he used to have a fake down comforter and it was a lot better than a regular comforter. at the time he had just got done an expensive divorce, needed a new comforter, wanted to spoil himself a little, but didn't want to spend too much.

i'm still shocked he got her (well, us) a real one. my dad kicks ass though.

down does rock they are the most comfy blankies
I am hoping to get one soon and a nice bed - too bad i have a bf that has allergies. It seems like every relationship i have had they have allergies which in turn leaves me without.

I have a down comforter, feather bed and all my pillows are down. DOWN ROCKS!

that must be one comfy bed. i'd be afraid to have sex on something like that though, especially with a squirter/gusher. the cleaning bills would make the whole thing not worth it.

I just bought 2 pillows priced at $150 each. I don't know what kind they are, but they're fluffy. They had a sale and some kind of coupon at Linens-N-Things and I got them for $75 each, instead. Woohoo.

I don't like being too hot under my blanket. I like the material to be a little "scruffy" Not silky and soft. Don't know if down is like that.

well, the blanket is kinda fuzzy like almost velvet like. it's pretty soft to the touch, but with sheets on the bed you wouldn't feel it.

$150 pillows?! do they have fleshlights in them? damn.

I got one for my birthday, very nice. I need to get some quality pillows.

that makes me sad to hear that. you can come try out our down comforter. we also have one of those thick ass memory foam mattresses. it's pretty firm actually and it's definetly comfortable. there's 2 parts to it. the top few inches you can kind of sink into, the other foot of it is very firm. it's a bitch and a half to carry though. when we moved, i had to take ratchet straps to fold it in half and keep it like that. made it a hell of a lot easier to carry.

and contrary to what Chef Wide said about the NASA enginnered memory foam mattresses, you can definetly achieve proper fuck leverage on them.
