DOMS and Martial Arts

So I'm finally back lifting. Don't ask, but the break was long.

My concern right now is DOMS from lifting and training in TKD at the same time; I'm probably gunshy from previous hamstring injuries, cause I sure as hell don't want to blow one out again.

Upper body is fine, I can deal with the soreness no problem.

Will DOMS in my legs put me at greater risk for an injury during class?

My plan is to maintain my level of martial arts training, but put back the 15lbs of LBM I've lost. I'm a textbook hardgainer, so I know it won't be easy, but I know it can be done. I just don't want to overtrain and walk into another training-setback injury.

Im going to tell you the hard truth .

STUFF yourself .

Eat like its your Job , and all of it Protein . Try to get smething close to 2 Grams f Protein per lb of bodyweight per day in .

Try to make your Leg Training on the Last day thhat ou have MA during your weekly cycle , or on the first day BEFORE your biggest Gap .
And if your real Concern is Re-Injury , Lifting is only HALF the Equation . You MUST add/maintain yur Yoga-type Static Posture Training . Thats Invisible Chair , Horse Stance , Bow and Arrow Stance - all the Low Stances that you Hold forever . Thats whats ging to keep your Muscles attatched .

I got hit in the Knee by a car , so this is what I learned from that experience .

Oh , and whats your Lifting Routine like for legs ? You may want to change some things around .

I presume you get kicked in the legs a lot during sparring (I dont know your system) ?

Right now, it's very basic; it includes squats and romanian deadlifts, in sets of 3 with 10-12 reps. Once I'm a bit more conditioned, I'll drop the reps down to 4-6 and jack the weight.

In the future, I'd like to add a lot more in the way of single-leg stability training and proprioception work.

My system is tae kwon do. There's no direct legs kicks, but I catch enough bone-on-bone action as it is. And because TKD focus is a lot of kicking, my hams can be pretty sore the day after class.
