THANK YOU!!!!
Someone finally has balls enough to ask this!
where is the "Victims Compensation Fund" for the families of the service men in Afghanistan who are now coming home in coffins?

ouch, and point made. Volunteering to help and being forced to help are 2 different things i spose.
MommaKin said:I agree with ya, Wodin.....I do...but, that's not the whole point of the cartoon......IMO, the cartoon is about the whole 9/11 happening, which I think is in bad taste.....if it was only bout the money, then I wouldn't have an opinion...

I agree that it's in bad taste but I was suprised that a publication like the New York Times which is known for basically throwing shit in our faces and saying "SMELL THAT!" would pull anything.

mrbill said:Wodin...no it doesn't offend me. This country is so politically correct it makes me sick. If you don't like it, don't read it.
Visions, i think you are missing Wodin's point. Of course, it was a tragic loss of life, but that is not the issue. Anytime life is lost it is tragic to their loved ones. People die everyday, how is the loss more "tragic" if it was in the WTC or on the freeway? Either way there are familes without loved ones, income, etc. However, this does not mean that the rest of society owes them something.![]()
visions said:The article is disgusting and so it some of the shit that is comin out of your people's mouths, I think it takes a lot of nerve to say what the survivors of lost ones do and do not deserve. WTF are these people supposed to who have lost their futures, their source of income, their benefits??? I don't think unless you've been involved on a first hand basis you should make any judgement.
Casulities of war and suffering veterans well thats a whole different topic in itself in which I do agree that their should be more compassion and financial consideration for these people.
Sebass67 said:6.1 million is too much. This is my opinion however. The cartoon portrays one of the people who had a relative lost in WTC...it does not necessarily stereotype all of them but makes the statement that some maybe taking it this way. There are people in America and in the world who die everyday and thay don't get dick all. This happens to everyone. Of course if you saw this firsthand you would agree with them getting money, who wouldn't. It's called bias. Not to incriminate you, but people that are biased don't seem to see things objectively.

visions,
Pretend that your father died in a horrible car accident when you were only 10 years old. He was the only one making money for the family, and not that much to begin with. Let's also pretend that the only people left in your immediate family were you and your disabled mother who cannot work.
Need help?
Too fucking bad - your father wasn't killed in a terrorist attack.
It's neither fair nor right to see excessive millions of taxpayer dollars going to help the families of the WTC events when thousands more families suffer every day just as bad or worse and don't get any help.
