remember on fridays when you would start detailing the ride no matter how junky it was. getting spiffed up with the foo foo on. and then just cruising for hours up and down a single street.

maybe stopping and talking in a parking lot and then just cruising again.

do they still do that?

I went home with a friend of mine in college for a long weekend once. She lived in this tiny bitty little town in Western Iowa. That's what they did. They'd just drive in circles for hours and hours, occasionally stopping in parking lots to talk to cars full of other people doing the same.

I didn't get it. It was so boring after about 2 minutes. After an hour or so I asked her if she'd just bring me back to her parents place. Then I'd read.

Here in VA they do. In Manassas, there's a strip where they meet and cruise.

In MD, they do it too. I remember leaving a restaurant with my ex and the parking lot of the shopping center the restaurant belonged to was FULL of cars. Then the cops came and broke it up (for no reason, they didn't have anything else to do. Its pretty quiet & safe in North Bethesda. lol)

I cruised in Huntington WV about 6 or 7 yrs ago. Some girl I was seeing was working in my area for the season. She wanted me to take her back to wv.
She demanded we do it. After an hour I was very bored. We sat in a parking lot until some guys come up wanting to kick my ass.

She said she just wanted him to see her with me in my vette to make him jealous

cruise in cars? when i got the SLK350 vert for the time...hell yes... that thing is fun to cruise..but its only a 2 seater (it aint mine tho)

Yeah, back in high school (late 80's... lol, I'm old), we used to cruise every weekend. ...at first it was mostly central avenue (main N/S street and downtown artery in Phx)...

then it moved to MetroCenter mall, where it was a big loop around the mall... but it got so bad, they put up signs that if you got caught passing the same place 3 times in 2 hours, you'd get a ticket...

...then it went to Mill Ave. in Tempe...

...then I got to old to cruise anymore, so don't know what became of it after that.

They have this thing down here called Cruisin' the Coast. Mostly old cars, a lot of fine ass muscle cars. it's like 5 days long, nothing but cars cruising and stopping at certain places, showing them off. If the cops in the area are nice enough, they'll let you do burnouts.

The Mexicans of course have either a Ford F150 or Chevy Silverado with every single imaginable piece of chrome aftermarket accessory added to the exterior. The shit hanging from the rear view mirror is a must as well.

In High School my buddies used to cruise around and harass as many people as we could. A lot of times we'd get wasted and loot the shit that grocery stores keep outside in the front. We'd always end up at our favorite mexican food place and harass the jocks from our school.
