does it take everyone this long?

i'm on my 5th week of 500mg test e and still don't feel any different. has it taken anyone else this long to feel anything?

Usually by the first of week 4, and I dont frontload, no need to if your cycle is long enough.
 
When you say you don't feel any different do you mean that your weight isn't up and neither is your strength? Is this your first cycle?
 
Eat! And I mean everything. I'm in my last week of a 500 cyp and 300 deca cycle, which is my first cycle, and I never really 'felt' anything but I've gained 28.5 lbs and strength has gone way up. What I suggest to you is eat anything and everything. You can't gain without food.

Eating clean is the best way to go, but I'll tell you I've just eaten everything until I'm sick of it (within some reason) and my bodyfat has gone up only a little (I suspect what I see is actually a fair amount water which I'm about to lose).

Now is not the time to diet down jerminator, you need to be eating any time you get the chance.

be patient, but dont expect to feel anything because you might be disappointed. i didnt know what i should expect, and then in the gym one day its just like wam, you are pushing the weight like its nothing, and the pumps are usually overwhelming. i felt like i could walk on water once it hit, i was the shit.

Thats kind of strange bro. Maybe you aren't eating enough, that is definitely of vast importance when using gear. To be honest, even if you were eating the same as before you should still see and feel a difference in recovery and pumps. I hope this isn't a genetic problem. My first cycle was 500mg's of test and 300mg's of deca, I put on 40 pounds. It was a little different circumstance though, I had been diagnosed with colitis and lost 27 pounds prior to starting. My body was able to put on a lot of weight because it had already been there. I put on 20 pounds in 3 weeks. Obviously there was some water in the equation too (about 19 gallons of bloat). My strength went way beyond previous levels and I hit 253, where as my heavies prior was 240.
 
It has to be genetics. Mostly in the receptors. First cycle, 500mg/week, you should feel horny as hell the from the very first week and look bloated by week 5, increasing strenght as well feeling more focused on what you do, elevated mood, sense of well being, etc...

Right on the button, I am on my 5th and what you say is true, I do notice my endurance has gone up, I dont get tired as ez.
 
Write down what you eat and when for a day.. then post it. I am betting your diet could be a lot better.
AAS are not magic. If you want muscle from them you have to eat properly, train properly, and get proper sleep.
